Thanks Ghost, I plan on keeping it very small for the time being due to time restraints on my end. Feel free to poke your head in and check it out.

Sly: I believe i stated rather clearly that there was no magic.

Quote :
there is no magic

cyberware and matrix are still there as I see them as essential elements to cyberpunk. Of course i would rather have the matrix from earlier editions but i dont have the 2050 rulebook so I'm stuck with it being wireless.

I have an idea for a smuggler that I was going to use in Sly's game if he needed extra man power I changed him from an elf if you want St Nougat I could send you the chummer file to look at. I still need to put in his background.

One thing If I do play this game this is the last one I'm joining, 3 is my limit.

Just an update notice.

I have updated the setting background thread with the following lines:

Quote :
There are no Technomancers, no Otaku, able to surf the matrix without the use of decks/commlinks. AIs have risen in the stream of information, Deus of Renraku fame being the most famous, and he had a couple of predecessors. Since the rise of Deus there is a growing fear that an AI will rise again and create even more chaos than Deus has, there exists groups of people who make it their goal prevent the rise of another AI. These Zealots often clash with the groups that seek to bring forth another AI. As a result there are currently no AI's in the matrix or on any known computer system.

I am still working out where I am wanting this all to go but I am formulating some ideas that I like. Jagger, if you have specific desires or goals for Logan let me know so that I can work things in.

LOL

are you sure that was for this game?

By the way, unless told otherwise i will assume that characters do things in the simplest most direct manner. For instance, driving across the border using local highways as opposed to trying to find a smuggling route. Or walking through the main lobby of a megacorp instead of accessing the roof and going through ventilation systems.

yeah I agree on that. I GM the same way; back in my D&D days, we had a standing rule: if you didn't say it specifically, it didn't happen

"But I wanted to sneak into the dragons lair, I even rolled the dice for it!"

"Did you actually tell anyone at the table?"

"ummm.... no but that's how I wanted to do it, my characters a thief he always sneaks"

"Right but did you actually tell anyone you were going to sneak into the dragons lair?"

"but but but...."

Some things don't need to be said but for important stuff if it isn't mentioned then it didn't happen. I've had players say "Can we assume my character always......" the answer is no, GM's have enought to keep track of to keep track of if your character always declared dodge on something or some other thing like that.

exactly... and then you have the players who foolishly step right into your well-laid trap and then want to 'rewind' a few steps

no no no, dear fly, you are well and truly caught in my sinister spider's web now

As a player the only thing you can say is "Crap! I forgot to....." and live with it (or have your character check to see what the dragon's last meal was).

just for clarification... whatever just happened with Logan's PAN, neither he nor the Agent program would be aware since he lost the Opposed test, correct?

ok, now that IC is back up...

Logan's Perception roll was made with the -2 Distracted penalty... he's going into a room blind - in other words, he doesn't know the layout of the room, doesn't know what to expect (other than a motel room, of course;) so I figure he'd be at a disadvantage despite the possibility of surprise.

He would only have 4 dice in the best of circumstances anyway... so 1 hit out of 2 dice with no glitch is pretty fair
