Ryukuu Katsuo was born in 2052 to a fairly normal family and grew up in one of Mitsuhama's corporate enclaves. As a result it did not take long before the young boy was identified by corporate educators as some one who was awakened and his training and classes were diverted accordingly. It was under Mitsuhama's watchful eye that he developed into an Adept of the Warrior's Way, a path that only took a little nudging from both family and the corp as Ryukuu's father was part of the corporate security teams. As part of his education Ryukuu had to sign the typical contracts in debiting him to mother corporation, however one of his friends, Hakura Yoshimasa was instrumental in prodding him to look beyond Mitsuhima's own security teams and turn to the far more profitable trade of mercenary work. Hakura had signed up with a 'private security group' called the Jade Tigers about a year prior through contacts he'd made while out on one of Mitsuhima's many military contracts with the Japanese government. While Ryukuu had only known Hakura a few years, the offer he'd received from the mercenary group was.. considerable. Certainly far better pay and offering more action than his present posting with Mitsuhima.
As a result, after serveral months of negotiation with Mitushima, the Jade Tigers bought out Ryukuu's contract early, in exchange for Ryukuu agreeing to work for them instead. Once he signed the contract he was soon whisked off to the mercenary group's training grounds off the shore of Japan and from there soon found himself serving a tour out in war torn Peru. Peru was full of work opportunity for the Jade Tigers. Initially contracted by Mitsuhima, the Japanese government or other Japanese corporate and related interests during the Orchalium race amid the events of the Year of the Comet, the group had made a good solid reputation for itself, as well as pocketed sizable paychecks. However these events were long past by the time Ryukuu was involved, there was still plenty of work to be had. The Japan corps were still around, though their presence was diminished, but the Ghost Cartels had not taken kindly to their presence. Added to this were the movements of The Shining Path. This soon lead to a number of contracts involved in arms, drugs and even a few magic based goods.
It was during one contract to raid a supposed Ghost Cartel drug depot along the coast that that Ryukuu and his team ran into trouble. The job they had been sent on was ultimately a setup. The Ghost Cartels were not only smart, but ruthless and certainly intended to retaliate against any attacks on their own holdings. So it was that they had set into motion a trap. Using runners to plant false leads and frame several members of the Jade Tigers. One such framed individual was none other than Ryukuu. Of course the idea had been that they would all die in the ambush and Ryukuu and others would take the blame. Better yet, with them dead no one would be able to ever figgure out what had really happened.
Fate however, had different plans for Ryukuu. Going in with his now long time friend Hakura, Ryukuu and the unit he was attached to snuck in on the property with the intention to destroy a large cache of drugs and eliminate any guards in the area. To make things look more real, the Cartels had placed a few, disposeable guards on location. The supposed cache of drugs wound up, as Ryukuu and his team mates found out, was actually a decoy with a rather explosive result. The initial blast killed three of the Jade Tigers, and the ambushing forces followed that up by quickly closing in for the kill. In the end only Ryukuu, Hakura and two others managed to break free and start a running battle that lasted several days through dense jungle as the team tried to make it's way to safety with the Cartels hot on their heels.
In the end, only Ryukuu managed to make it out of the Jungle and reach one of the larger towns where he managed to pay a local to drive him to Japanese controlled territory. By then the Jade Tigers were convinced he'd been part of the conspiracy, worse yet the Cartels were still after him as well. He had been party to several raids on their holdings, and status quo said they had to make an example of him as a result. Because of this, Ryukuu ditched what he couldn't take with him past the border checks and promptly charted a flight back to Japan. From there he eventually wound his way to Neo-Tokyo where he is presently residing under a false identity and badly in need of work, with no friends left. To make things worse both his parents had now passed away and he was an only child with no other links to family.
Personality: Ryukuu is a bit of a neat freak, though it is at least in part tied into his devout following of the Ryukyuan. A minority variant of Japanese religion with numerous outside influences tied to the worship of Kami and more importantly (At least for Ryukuu) the worship of the spirit of one's ancestors. Supposedly in his distant past, a number of Ryukuu's ancestors were Samurai, though it's a claim many families try to make, though only a few are true. There is at least actual proof in Ryukuu's case, and even if that were not true, his family had a long history of warriors serving in Japan. To date, Ryukuu is one of the few to fall outside of official military or security roles, but a warrior he was none the less. Even if he was now more of a Ronin by comparison.
Beyond this however Ryukuu is a person who does what must be done, yet still follows his own set code of honour and conduct. He does his best to avoid killing the 'innocent' or at least in this case those who are not his actual targets or those attacking him in defence of his target in the case of wetwork. He also has strict rules about not killing children when it was avoidable (Sometimes however, especially when it came to children soldiers.. you just had to make an exception).

Wanted: There are actually several corporations out to capture Mouser, alive. For one corporation he represents a lost investment that should be retrieved. To others he's a potential gate way to some one else's research in mind control of awakened animals. Great way to enhance those bleeding edge tech Biodrones. The multiple corporation involvement is due to the difficulty said corporations have on holding onto any relevant information of him due to his erased quality. However at least three mega corps have managed to retain and secure multiple hard copies which are far more difficult to get rid of.

| Contact Details: Zack Wilds: Mouser met him by pure chance actually shortly after Zack had decided to try and track the shifter down for the bounty on his head. However Mouser at the time was entirely unaware of said bounty and Zack had very little information to go on due to the individual(s) that keep some how managing to wipe out the information on Mouser. The best part yet, was that Zack and Mouser started to work together for a short while while Zack was busy trying to track down leads on his main target, there were still plenty of other fish in the sea to go after that were less illusive but still offered a decent pay out. Some of them were bail jumpers, others were wanted for various crimes against assorted different corporations. The list goes on.
They worked together for six months all told before Zack realized that his 'big prize' had been literally in front of him this whole time. However with each having pulled the others hoop out of the (sometimes literal) fire several times by then, Zack just didn't have the heart to turn in a buddy. So instead he confronted Mouser about it one day, made it look like he was serious about turning Mouser in for the reward, laughed, got both of them drunk and they've been fast friends since.
Mouser's BG (Work in progress, not final)
In 2060 a research group was formed to study the potential for creation true biodrones as well as advancing research and study into the potential for cybernetically augmented guard animals. The main focus of this group was primarily to attempt to properly train and control paracritters as well as study the effects of cybernetics upon awakened animals. The group was made up of several ex intelligence agents specializing in programing and deprogramming humans for black ops missions, numerous biologists, parazoologists, trained handlers, cybernetic specialists, cybernetics engineers and simsense experts and programmers.
Over the years they managed to bring about a number of breakthroughs, sometimes with assistance from information gleamed from competitors through the use of both in house and external shadow assets. By 2070 they had even managed to bring about a reasonable measure of success in some awakened species and biodrone research. Indeed in another 10-20 years time it was expected that new control methods would bear fruit on a number of methods on a sufficiently large and economical scale to make it economically feasible to deploy such assets to any and all high sensitivity level sites.
Awakened critters however, like metahumans reacted rather negatively towards cybernetic methods of augmentation and control. Shapeshifters for example could quickly loose the ability to transform if augmented too heavily (not to mention loose their awakened abilities that made them so useful). Even then unless the augmentations were delta grade their bodies would simply absorb the augmentations. Even then the moment they shifted the augmentations would be 'absorbed' until they shifted back. As such alternate methods were expected to be explored, and with the growing sophistication of simsense, PAB units and other similar systems a breakthrough was arguably inevitable.
So in may of 2070 89SJX7-CV3; also known as Test Variant 89 - Shapeshifter (Jaguar species) Experiment 7 - Control Group Violet: Subject 3 - Hence forth referred to as 'Mouser' finally began to bear fruit of years of research. Mouser specifically was a name chosen by Subject 3's handlers due to his apt ability to chase down and 'kill' both live test subjects (Mainly mice and rats) as well as small drones in his formative years. Mouser was born and raise in captivity, independent of other members of his species. This was deemed as having the best chance to properly instill the necessary familiarity with metahuman handlers as well as properly allow programming to begin in the crucial formative years. Shapeshifters unlike metahumans mature just as quickly as their non awakened species and therefore makes early training even more crucial than in metahuman children.
Training was a mix of vocal obedience training combined with and reinforced by hot simsense based training that was possible through the advancement of simsense and nanotechnology. To better allow integration with human handlers and due to a shapeshifters ability to assume human (And in the case of rare individuals some other metahuman variant) form, Mouser was brought up to accept corporate metahuman culture. However given his animalistic instincts as well as the desire to keep him as a pliable guard animal efforts in this regard only went so far as to ensure that he had at least a basic grasp of how to deal with others, as well as how to use and recognize current and emerging every day technological devices and weaponry.
Once obedience training had been deemed sufficient the project lead decided to go a step further and see if Mouser could in fact be trained not only to be a guard animal, but also a potential shadow asset. As a result he was given basic infiltration and firearms training. However he seemed to have severe difficulties in understanding how to proper use firearms though he started to show some promise with handguns and as such further attempts at training were deemed as being desirable. Where he excelled however was in close quarters combat. Specifically he responded well to several forms of hand to hand combat training as well as showing what seemed to be a certain level of natural affinity for bladed weaponry.
Several issues with Mouser however, must be noted. First and foremost he is beginning to show some signs of resistance to mental programming. This is the most alarming and important issue. Further study is not only advised, but absolutely required for further success of this program. Secondly; Mouser has shown a tendency to be reluctant to draw back from combat when ordered to do so. This has been theorized to be the result of slightly excessive aggression training. On the positive side he has shown himself to be quite eager at engaging in the more dangerous experiments when we have run him through simulated infiltrations of enemy installations including the use of low powered lethal ammunition.
Unfortunately the other members of control group Violet have not fared so well. It is suggested that Subjects 1, 4, 5, 6 and 9 be liquidated and the remaining test subjects of control group Violet be reassigned for proper field testing. Mouser appears to be particularly suited towards the theorized Project Kipplan. It is suggested however that if Project Kipplan is authorized; that Mouser be given further reinforcement on training to aid in tracking his actions.

Mouser couldn't remember how he got into the shadows, or even who he was. Indeed when he initially woke up he had found himself in a dingy apartment with a rather.. interesting assortment of contents. He knew, as he went through all the things that they were his. He didn't know why they were his, or how he'd obtained them, but he knew them intimately. All his weapons were clearly fitted to suit his hands just so. So too had his armour, including the suit of heavy milspec he'd found in a locker in the closet. He'd even found a set of licenses and a SIN claiming he was a Charles McCarthy. However a note next to the SIN information also clearly stated that this had all been faked by his 'friend' as a return for a favour. Who this 'friend' was though he hadn't the slightest damn clue.
He did however have a second message asking him if he was available for a job. It would pay his usual rate and include a sufficiently large initial advance to pay his bills for a few months at least and then some. The message had also been addressed to 'Mouser'. This in turn matched the name stamped upon the shiny chrome plate at the front of a leather collar about his neck. It also seemed to match up with the name of the person addressed in any correspondence that didn't seem to be directed towards the apparently fake identity of 'Charles McCarthy'. It took him some time to go about the apartment though he found himself oddly familiar with everything, and yet not. The contents of the fridge, well stocked as it was with various cheap foods was also unknown to him, yet apparently clearly suited to his personal tastes.
Eventually, without a clue of what else to do, he simply accepted the job.
A year later he was still running the shadows, he'd even managed to finally make a good solid friend in the form of Zack Wilds. A rather.. interesting and colorful character to say the least. However they had worked well together but it had been the first indicator that there was apparently a price on his head. Indeed, that there were several contracts out for him. Why these people wanted him, he had no clue. That his first contact had apparently been friendly at least helped, but he couldn't help but feel a mild sense of paranoia about the whole matter. In the end, he decided there wasn't too much point in worrying about it. The hunters would come, or they would not. If they did, he was prepared, or so he believed.
But now the jobs were drying up, and along with it his money. Money was important, it was important to the metahumans. For some reason it was important to him too. And so eventually, when he called Zack out of desperation for work, Zack had told him he'd do what he could, and like any good friend pulled through a little under a week later. There was a job, he didn't know what it would pay, but it was better than nothing. Doubly so for some one who was a shifter, and as such couldn't legally work anywhere. Indeed in the UCAS he was just an animal with no more rights than some one's pet dog. And so Mouser said he would go.
At least it offered the chance for some excitement...

| Amosis Ladon was a fairly simple boy growing up. Or at least as simple as any Minotaur could ever be considered. Born to a family of Greek origin, yet living in the UCAS he had a somewhat rocky childhood. His father's job required him to move relatively often and his mother picked up what secretarial or other work she could. Eventually after several years they settled down in Toronto. His father settled down into a rather stereotypical bouncer job at a bar while his mother wound up going back to school and eventually becoming an auto mechanic. It was around this time that a long time couple who were good friends of his parents died in a car accident only four years after Amosis was born. With no one left to raise their only child who was at daycare at the time, and with his mother having been chosen as the 'god mother', Trisha Kipplan, age two and a half, was brought into the family fold. But this was made a little.. awkward due to the fact that unlike the rest of the family, Trisha was a human. None the less over the years growing up Trisha and Amosis grew up as any other family, with Amosis winding up in the role of much larger and protective older brother. Something that lead to a number of fights as he was growing up, especially as they were forced to live in a rougher side of town.
Where Amosis had trouble in school, his sister was a polar opposite. She did well, had high marks and the family pinned much hope upon the small girl. Dispite this Amosis was never particularly jealous of Trisha, because dispite everything, and despite all the differences she always made a point to hang out with him time to time, introduce him to her friends, and her natural charisma seemed to help smooth over Amosis' slightly more gruff personality. That is not to say they spent every waking moment together or anything of the sort. Where as Trisha leaned towards academic pursuits, Amosis had a brief brush with running with a local gang, briefly got into sports again but once more, fell out. He always seemed to want something more exciting to do as a living. By the time he was trying to get through college and struggling, he started looking towards joining the UCAS military. Afterall he was big, fit and the military could always use more soldiers in this day and age. However, that would potentially mean having to move far way from friends and family, above all of which was Trisha. And so he eventually wound up working as a bouncer along side his father for a little while before managing to land a low level security position with a local Ares subsidiary.
Meanwhile his sister graduated from University, and went to the start of a potentialy promising career in Parazoology. Snapped up by an Ares recruiter the family on the whole seemed to be slowly turning towards becoming well entrenched in Ares corporate life in some way or another. After a few years Trisha was transfered out to a small research group near Chicago. Given the dangers of the area, and how protective he felt of his little sister, along with their tight relationship over the years, Amosis applied for, and was granted a transfer to a security team closer to his sister, though it pitted him into a much more dangerous situation. The upside was that at least Ares was not about to leave him defenseless or anything in such an area. He'd already picked up a few bits and pieces of cybernetics here and there over the years, but with the transfer came several new upgrades and he eventualy went on to move up the ladder and get into a High Threat Response team, something that rather appealed to Amosis' desire for more action. Still, he always found time to visit his sister and she alike when her work allowed. That's not to say things were all happy for Amosis, his boss, as far as he could ever figure was a closet Humanis sympathizer if not flat out member. He did not like non humans, and he sure as hell did not like having Amosis on his team after he was promoted to replace Amosis's previous boss after she moved up the chain to head up larger security operations for Ares.
It was not uncommon for Amosis to be issued warnings, or to get into borderline arguments with his boss, while many of his team mates sympathized with him, none wanted to come under fire and potential loose their jobs. In the end only Amosis otherwise completely clean record and seniority helped him keep his job. Eventually a sort of uneasy 'truce' was worked out and while neither party was happy at least life could move on.
And then one day, when out doing fieldwork under the supervision of a small security force into some of the more dangerous areas of The Zone. Never a safe place to travel in to begin with.
That was four years ago. Now at the age of 26 Amosis has left all he's known behind and lives amid all the chaos, paranoia and squalor of what was once a proud city. When word finally reached him that Trisha was missing, it had already been a few days. Days turned into weeks. Initially Amosis flat out asked for leave from his job to at least get a chance to go look for his sister but his boss would not allow him to. At every turn his boss would block his requests and at one point made the mistake of trying to twist the knife a little more by telling Amosis he might as well give up and quit because his sister was dead and should just accept it. Amosis in exchange, broke his boss's jaw, grabbed his kit and stormed out, only to promptly strike for the last place he could find out his sister had been located before disappearing. To say that his employment with Ares was promptly terminated would be an understatement. Assault, disobeying orders, going AWOL, theft of company equipment.. there was a long enough list to put Amosis in jail for some time and it was something his Boss promptly tried to capitalize upon to get Amosis thrown in jail.
However, before Amosis was intercepted by a Knight Errant security team to be arrested, they were abruptly called off. Why, remains a mystery, one deepened by the fact that the criminal charges slowly disappeared after a few days. Officially the excuse given was the staunch support of his fellow team mates when investigators at least tried to piece together the events, yet it's never anything that would have fully cleared Amosis of all charges, doubly so given that he was still implanted with a good hundred thousand credits of company property. Who that 'benefactor' was however still has not surfaced. Coupled with this was a tip from an equally unknown source with updated information on the circumstances surrounding his sisters dissaperance, and then after that.. nothing.
Not about to look a gift horse in the mouth however, Amosis slowly worked his way to the last known location, and has since been able to only uncover a few occasional clues here and there as to Trisha's fate. That said, he's still all this time later utterly convinced that his sister is still alive somewhere in Chicago. It's just.. dispite all his looking, he's been unable to find her. None the less he soon grew a reputation for jumping at nearly every potential lead he comes across. However, his search is complicated by the various gangs, factions, threats and just the flat out difficulty finding proper food and shelter in Chicago. However he had one thing many others in the area lacked. Experience, training, decen gear and cybernetics. All of this combined to give him an edge over some of the local competition, though he's had to do his best to make deals here and there, and at the core he's always remained a relatively 'good' person. That said, the devastation and conditions he found in Chicago were.. well. Worse than he'd ever realized.
Couple this with the difficulty of getting food, the fact that money was virtually worthles and he had little to barter but his skills, Amosis did the only thing he figured he could do. He went Mercenary... sort of. Taking the od jobs here and trying to stay out of getting too hooked into any one faction. However in the end the efforts of the Anarchist Black Crescent drew his attention. After all they were a major source of medical supplies in the area and once or twice he'd had to bargain with them directly, or more often one of their affiliates to get medicine in exchange for something else.. which often came in the form of guarding some shipment or helping secure some trade deal. From there he eventually wound up making a few contacts with the Black Star. While he did not share many of their anarchistic beliefs on the whole, he could not argue with some of their other goals aimed at benefiting the outcasts of society as well as the underprivileged. Eventually a loose connection became more and more firm. As time went on he also started to come around to their way of thinking, though he so far remains a somewhat more mild form of anarchist. Still, the jobs pay, in food, shelter and the occasional munitions if nothing else. The downside was, the longer he stayed with the organization the more dependent he became on them.
These days Amosis spends most of his time doing various jobs for the Black Star, largely resigned to, but not entirely having given up on some day finding out what happened to his sister. Meanwhile there are corporate holdings to hit, food, medical and munitions shipments and caches to 'repurpose', favours to do in exchange for favours. Safe houses and medical clinics to help guard and protect against unwanted elements.. and time to time even 'bugs' to hunt down and kill before they can spread further.
Not the best of lives, but it's a living.
Hell now and then he's even able to get word out to his folks, though these days their starting to get rather old for Trolls, and will no doubt have to retire a few years from now. Still, he tends to most of what ever money he gets paid home to his folks, or when he gets a chance actually spends it as soon as possibe on things he can either use, or at least barter for something he does want or need, though if it were not for his fellow Black Star members he'd probably be loosing his shirt at every turn given his poor grasp of the finer points of wheeling and dealing. | |

| It is said by some that we come from Tepeyollotl, a god in our form, and closely tied to the earth. It is for this reason some say that unlike others, Obsidian is our bane. In many ways however Metahumanity has been far worse.
I was born in the jungles of South America, and yet it is now the jungles of concrete, steel and glass that I call home. Indeed it is more of a home to me these days, than any real jungle I've known I've spent so much time in these 'cities'. Yet I've so much left to learn. I do not understand why Metahumans value 'money' so much, though I see it has some merit. I understand the concept of trade, but I do not fully understand their so called 'law'. None the less, I've come to understand some of it, and more so come to value much of this 'technology' of theirs.
Most of it is cold, dead and ugly, yet some of it is sleek, smooth and appealing. It is these latter things I covet most. One must always look their best after all, even when hunted. That part however, takes further explanation. I was very young when I was.. discovered. Perhaps only a year or two old at the time by Metahuman counting. Younger at least than I am now, though by most standards of these people I am not very old at all. Certainly however, I am no longer so.. naive as I once was, though I am perhaps still a little impulsive. It is the beast within that calls. It is the beast that I am that rules.
Yet I've had to learn to hide what I am from these Metahumans. When I was found it was by men belonging to what I have come to know as Aztechnology. I'm.. not clear on what it is. A 'Country' or 'Company' or both? These things I still do not fully understand. The way some act there is no difference to my view of things. It was this Aztechnology that helped me chose a name, so that others would know who I am. It was they that gave me something called a 'SIN'. So that others could tell me apart in their jungles of steel and glass and concrete.
So too did they spend several years teaching me things, offering me things. In exchange I would perform certain tasks. Hunt. Kill. Protect. Take. These metahumans seem to often call taking 'stealing', though it is the place of the strong to take from the weak is it not? Perhaps not. I.. still do not fully understand this concept. They treated me well, for the most part. In time I met others of my kind, though it seems we are still.. uncommon. We are not mere animals, yet we are not Metahuman. We are.. what we are. Alive, thinking. 'Sentient' is a word I have learned. Yet not all Metahumans see us as such.
So too did I learn having an 'identity' did not stop one from being something else. Something Metahumans call a 'slave'. If I did not do the bidding of 'the company' I would be punished. If I did well I was usually rewarded. To me this at first simply seemed as a 'fair trade'. Yet in time I learned to tell the difference. To tell when I was being treated fairly and when I was being used. And so I learned of another thing. A thing Metahumans call 'hate'.
There was one, he did not treat me well. He treated me as an animal where others would treat me as an equal, or at least as something more than just.. a thing. There is a chain. There is a leader and there are followers. This I understand. This is natural. But when one pushes too far one simply fights to prove who is better. Sometimes, one kills the other to become the dominant one.
But this is not the Metahuman way some claim. It is.. not done. Yet I have been paid many times to do this for others. To spill blood for them. To kill or hurt. Even 'The Company' had me do these things. Yet they did not understand when this one who treated me not well was slain. They did not understand why this too should be acceptable.
And so, I simply left.
'The Company' this.. 'Aztechnology' did not like this. They send, time to time, others to do their bidding. They brand me something called a 'Criminal'. One who has done 'wrong' and 'broken the law'. These men, these women. These.. things. They come to capture me. Never seem to wish to kill. I belive the company wishes to have me back. To force me to do once again as they bid. But I do not wish this.
I wish to be free.
I wish to do as I want.
I wish to make my own place in the world.
But I have so much to learn. So much to experience. I have only recently 'entered the shadows' as some have termed it. I am new. I am.. different. I do not know many others outside of 'The Company' and I do not wish to speak to those of 'The Company'. Yet I am not certain who I should talk to. Who I should not. | Like others, Sentinel's descent into the shadows began with Crash 2.0. In his case however, he wasn't rendered SINless, but he was as much a victim as anyone. Crash 2.0 heralded the coup attempt by the New Revolution. One that ended almost as quickly as it began when loyalist forces fought back against their traitor brethren. Sentinel was among those soldiers that day. Though in his case he had been fighting more than just the New Revolution, he'd also been fighting a lingering drug addiction. This had heralded something far darker however. A counter coup, one that was entirely successful. The forces behind it quickly set to work silencing those that knew the truth or were in any way shape or form connected to it. Sentinel just kind of got caught in the middle when a long time high school friend of his wound up dead over it and he'd started asking one too many questions.
So the next thing he knew, he was under arrest on trumped up charges for the murder of the very same friend. He'd made a pretty good scapegoat for the killing too. After all he was a soldier who'd fallen apart under stress. He'd cracked, turned to drugs and just happened to have the right kind of knowledge to rig up the explosive device that killed his friend. Hell he even had easy access to all the materials which clearly came from a UCAS military storehouse on his base. He'd have likely died in prison were it not for a few other friends of his who'd started digging into the deaths as well and some soon realized the truth of the matter. That he'd been setup and was going to face the firing squad over it. So a few of them, lead by another friend of his, a UCAS Military hacker by the alias of Jagged Note broke him out in a raid that was setup to look like it was done by elements of the New Revolution. That at least offered a reasonable enough cover for the operation but it only added a further charge of Treason to Sentinel's rap sheet.
Furbished with a new SIN to hide under and able to make off with his issued equipment stolen out of lockup Sentinel went to ground and Jagged Note managed to cover Sentinel's tracks well enough that after a few years the UCAS military gave up actively looking for him. But that didn't erase the rather decent bounty they'd placed on his head. After all, it just wouldn't do to let a traitor and murder get away with it, not to mention one hooked on drugs and who'd stolen military grade equipment, all of which was highly illegal. So now Sentinel goes about trying to make himself a new life. He'd managed to clean up, kick the drug habit and stay out of the reach of the people who'd set him up. Now he seeks to clear his name, but has no idea how to go about doing it. And with no other way to pay the bills, and with all the skills needed to become an effective runner, he soon fell into the shadows, likely to never emerge again in the public spotlight.

| Trevor was in some ways one of the lucky few in the sixth world, he grew up never knowing his father, and his mother passed away in a car accident when he was 12. However, around this time his father supposedly was the one that set him up with a trust fund through the Draco Foundation which continues to administer the specifics of his trust fund. Under it he's not really ever really wanted for anything. It pays for a good apartment, decent food and even leaves him with a reasonable stipend each month to spend as he pleases. As such he was also afforded decent education and spent much of his time sticking his nose into machines. He never really questioned why, as a younger child he was always taking apart things and by age 6 had already started disassembling (Much to his mothers dismay one day) the household cleaning drones. It wasn't much longer before he started to pick up the basics of actually putting them back together again. A few years later he was soon throwing together a few basic home made upgrades and moved on to other things.
At the age of 16 he started getting into motorcycles and by age 18 became a regular at some of the lower key bike racing circuits. By age 20 he was starting to develop a decent reputation as a street racer in the more serious circuits when a confrontation one night with another racer lead to a bar brawl. That only caused things to escalate further and further until recently he found himself on the business end of a gun. Fortunately for him he managed to get away with only minor injuries but decided it was perhaps time to start considering retiring from the circuit before he got himself killed. Still, he's had a hard time trying to keep himself away. In the meantime while he'd slowly started building up a friendly connection with Draco Foundation and even doing some odd jobs on the side for them when ever he wanted extra cash for a project, he was never really happy working as a wage slave. He preferred the ideal of living the fast life and soon took to looking for quick high payout jobs, thus leaving him free to party, race or hang out as he pleased.
It's only very recently that his technical skills brought him to the attention of the fixer known as Dreen-Man. He soon enough proved to be a competent technician and a relatively decent (and at the very least, well equipped) rigger. Still, while he holds a fair chunk of potential to become great, he's got a long way to go before he can be truly molded into a proper runner. | |

Thought Mouser could no longer remember it save perhaps in snippets that time to time surfaced in his dreams, there had been a time when he'd been actually happy. Things had been... simple. He'd never known his parents growing up however, as he'd grown up in captivity, but it had been a caring and nurturing one, at least initially. He'd had people to play with and to care for and feed him, though as he'd grown the playtime had soon turned to.. something else and he'd soon learned he wasn't really free to do as he pleased and sometimes those revelations were met with painful lessons indeed. Still, he'd never really thought to question the whole thing too much, it just wasn't his way and so he'd never actually been too bitter about the whole experience of growing up as part of some grand experiment he didn't even understand. What he'd not known of course was that there were other factors playing into keeping him that way, keeping him from questioning everything he was told to do by his handlers. Still, he couldn't help but question what was being done to some of the others he was with. While it was difficult to implant a shifter with cybernetics it could be done, though not without some unwanted side effects and the interfaces were not really understood too well this early on. Shifters were still rare and hard to find after all and a program designed to turn them into controllable, highly intelligent guard animals was both expensive and difficult to find subjects for. One could breed in captivity to an extent but even with shifters the results were varied, and even under the best of conditions it didn't always work out. Mouser had been one of the few successes in that area so far and as a result had grown up never knowing the jungles of his homeland. He'd only ever known the facility he'd grown up in and a few of the other shifters about. He didn't even know his parents, though that honestly didn't matter in the slightest to him. Things were.. different to a shifter than to a metahuman. There never was that burning need to find out who his parents were, it's not like they'd have kept him around long in the wild either so he was already well set to cope without. Being that his handlers were able to start training him from a young age it also meant that they had a subject that was far easier to mould into what they wanted.
Still, mental reprogramming was still a field not yet fully understood amongst metahumans and entirely new when dealing with the likes of awakened species, even if they could turn into something that looked human.

| 'Doc Saw' basic background information:
Oradro had actually had a relatively decent life growing up. He had caring parents who worked hard and the family as a whole was no strangers to the hardships of life of being orks. His family wasn't well off, and his youngest brother got tangled up with gangs at an early age while Oradro managed to by and large stay clear of their influence. Indeed, for an ork, he possessed a keen intellect and a bit of a lucky streak on the whole. Where as Oradro's brother Kevin kept getting into trouble or hitting road blocks in life, Oradro usually sailed past them. Most notably landing himself a scholarship that allowed him to further study in the field of medicine, showing particular aptitude towards chemistry and biology. Further bolstered by funds raised by his parents who were eager to see at least one of their children move up in the world, he soon found himself enlisted in a school funded by DocWagon, and in turn once he'd finished his studies he went to work for them full time and earning a good living.
However, though he wasn't the fittest of orks, he often thought of the idea of aiming to one day join one of DocWagon's HTR teams and furthered those goals with combat specific training as well as furthered medical training. In the end however his brother's gang related connections came back to haunt him one day when he got a frantic call from one of Kevin's friends babbling on about something to do with Kevin having been shot. Concerned for his brother's safety he left work early that day to meet up with the group and find out why they were refusing to simply bring Kevin into a hospital.
The truth in the end boiled down to the fact that Kevin had been shot during a B&E and they were concerned they'd all get arrested and go to jail, which left Oradro at odds with his morals. This was after all, his brother. In the end, family blood won out and he went back to work to 'borrow' the necessary medical equipment to help Kevin as well as a few other gangers who had been injured in the fight. Two weeks later he found himself without a job as DocWagon had noticed the missing materials and further investigation wound up tying him into the incident. While he'd not been involved in the crime in question, he had taken a fair bit of company property without permission to do so as well as broke a number of corporate regulations in the process.
With a bad stain on his reputation, Oradro was unable to find work at other clinics, though his skills still were in high demand, if not in the open, legal circles of the world, then most certainly in the shadier sides of the world. With the aid of a few contact he'd made in Doc Wagon along with a large bank loan, money he'd saved up and the aid of certain interested parties he managed to save up enough money to open his own small private medical clinic. From there it was an easy downward slope into accepting under the table cash payments well above what he'd normally make in order to tend to injuries of various individuals who wanted help, or simply wanted implants done off the record. Even where records were necessary, his status as a private clinic entitled him to refuse to surrender records in most cases unless the relevant parties had the proper warrants lest he breach doctor/patient confidentiality laws.
However, in the underworld there's always competition and when you don't want to play ball with the bigger fish, the bigger fish try to take you out and Oradro was no different. However Oradro was not about to be an easy push over, he'd already had connections to the gang his brother was part of, and so he cut them a deal. If they helped keep his place safe, they in turn could get cheap or free medical attention depending on what it was they wanted. Cuts, scrapes and stitches for example would all be free, augmentation on the other hand would have to come out of their pocket but at a discounted rate. Couple that with his willingness to cut fellow orks some slack and he soon found himself relocating to the Ork Underground where he had a far more secure location. Granted it was a rough part of town, often with rival gangs fighting or the occasional police crack down, but it was his.
The problem however, with running your own small clinic on the cheap is where do you get the parts? Well the gangs were one source, and other underworld contacts were.. other sources. It always wound up being a two edged sword, or saw in this case perhaps, that now and then some one would need a transplant organ. While they might have the money to pay some one like him, the organs had to come from somewhere and there were few better places than folk like organ leggers. Top that with the occasional individual who thought they could get away without paying because he was running a largely illegal operation and well.. sometimes spare parts presented themselves in the very same people he'd previously operated on. Except instead of putting something back in, he... simply took out his payment in force.
Thus 'Doc Saw' was born, nasty reputation and all, and so named for how he was reputed to cut open anyone who refused to pay up what they owed him with a bone saw.
But of course that had to just be rumour! He was a nice enough fellow on the surface, yet all the rumours persist and at least some of them have to be true for him to still be around and operating.... | |

| While trolls were relatively common these days, Minotaurs were a slightly odd sight in some parts of the world. What made him stand out even more was that unlike most people in the world, he was also an albino. Coupled with the fact that he fit the rather typical Troll stereotype of being 'slow' and large he often struggled in school despite maintaining a rather friendly demeanour. Of course generally folk didn't want to pick on some one who could crush them like a bug, so generally he only had a few problems with others of his own kind, though many of them were not exactly any sharper than he was. Coupling that with an apparently very dangerous allergy to bees, bad reaction to sunlight and a poor family, well.. he wasn't likely to ever amount to much in life. Thus it was no surprise to anyone when he eventually started hanging out with the 'wrong crowd' in school. While he generally avoided becoming a bully, he did wind up in quite a few fights that got him into trouble and by the time High School rolled around, he'd eventually had it and simply stopped going around grade 10.
By then he'd wormed his way into working with Janesta. While he couldn't necessarily be counted on to remember everything, and was sometimes a little slow to pick up on what had to be done. He did rather well on the other hand when it came to simply doing what he was told and otherwise looking intimidating. It was by working with Janesta that he managed to scrape up enough cash to get his first operation done. While he initially disliked the idea, he'd had his eyes replaced with cybernetic versions and soon found his worries and concerns were unfounded. With cybernetic eyes, the sun no longer blinded him on a bright day, though he still usually wore sunglasses out of habit. From there it was an easy transition to a few upgrades for the eyes, and then a data jack just like all the other kids got to have. Shortly after he dug himself even deeper into things in order to get a sleep regulator so he could stay up even later and party all night without having to worry about being tired the next day.
Of course, the more work he did for Janesta, the more call there was sometimes for the use of violence, and from that sprung the jump to combat implants. A little armed robbery here, some shake downs there. Even a little gang warfare when things got a little too hot and the next thing he knew, he'd had enough of living with his folks and moved out once he was 18, never bothering to look back to a broken home with a drunken mother and a father who just never could seem to try and better his lot in life. Oradro wasn't about to accept things as they were however. He was building something for himself here, he could understand that much at least. So what if he had to follow orders? So what if he had to do the things others wanted him to do? They were friends, closer than family sometimes and more importantly he got to ride their coat tails on the way to getting more money, and maybe some day actually live well. Have real food instead of that processed soy based crap. Or at least that was his dream, though at least for now he was actually managing a decent living by working for Janesta, and Janesta had always been good to him. Helped him study when he'd struggled in school, gave him work when he'd finally gotten fed up and quit.
At least here he fit in. At least here, being a 'freak' wasn't a bad thing. | |

Soren had never been your typical ork growing up, he'd always wanted more in life, always wanted to learn, go to school, have a good job. Having been born in 2051 he'd grown up seeing some of the rougher parts of Ork Underground history though he'd managed to avoid most of the trouble, keeping his head down while living and working on the streets. Soren had always had a bit of a gift for the gab which came in handy given that he wasn't quite as big or tough as many of the other orks he grew up aground, but he managed to mostly stay out of trouble. That wasn't to say he didn't wind up in a few fights however. Still, in the end it seemed almost inevitable that he, like many young Orks would wind up in a gang, except that one of the older residents of the Underground, a old Shaman named Sarah Mulligan took him in. She was human, poor herself though she'd come from a well off family, she'd given away most of her inheritance to help those less fortunate. Life however had a way of not paying her back in the way one would have expected if you believed in Karma. In Soren's case he met her after accidentally clipping her while rushing past on his motorcycle while trying to flee a pair of Halloweeners. The incident left her with crippled knee for the rest of her life but for what ever reason, she never held it against him however. To the contrary she had in a way helped raise Soren and, having recognized his potential helped him mature and constantly pushed him to improve both educationally and in his magical ability. The streets more or less necessitated that he had to stick to skills that would help him survive and he never really mastered any one particular skill, though he soon found his knack for socializing mixed with his spread out knowledge allowed him to talk his way into, and usually out of, just about anything.
It was his mouth as it were that ended up getting him in some trouble with the Mafia, as he had finally landed his first real run and the team he went in with were supposed to divert a shipment of stolen military grade firearms away from the Mafia and towards members of the Triads. The run wound up mostly a disaster with several of the other new runners getting killed while Soren, through a mix of gift of the gab and a little dumb luck managed to survive. In retalliation however, the Mafia went after several friends including his mentor Sarah, badly injuring her and burning down her house, thus destroying most of her meager posessions. They had intended to kill her, but Soren by pure twist of fate happened to arrive just in time to dispatch the two goons and rushed her off to safety. Sarah however by this point was a fairly old lady and the stress simply was too much and was soon beset by alzheimer's. Now a days Sarah lives in a higher end old folks home, needing fairly constant attention due to her degrading mental condition. She still remembers snippets of her life and at least recognizes Soren as... well... some one. The who depends often on the day it is but usually she thinks he's some one else.
Feeling responsible for what happened to Sarah and all the misfortune he seemed to have beset her with, Soren cautiously got back into running and con acts to try and get enough money to keep paying for Sarah's rent, slowly adding to a small pool of cash he'd set aside as an investment towards her living and medical expenses, one that seems to grow bit by bit every year. After all, with no children to call her own and so few people helping her in turn when she needed it, Soren has more or less become her only source of financial support. However he wasn't ready for it really, and he'd known that and so he'd spent his time digging around, training, trying to find ways to push his magical talent ever further. In the end he took the risk of starting to rely on a Talisman. Initially it had simply been something he'd kept around 'for good luck' but in the end wound up so much more for the Talisman had been designed to simply act as a reminder of where he had come from, and thus had been made from a small polished stone he'd found in the Ork Underground, set in a silver pendant on a silver chain that had the words 'Don't Forget' etched on the back. He'd had two copies made, giving one to Sarah out of hope that she would perhaps be able to use it to jog her memory a little now and then.
With a few more simple jobs under his belt so he had a little money for rent for himself and Sarah, Soren now seeks the next gig. He didn't exactly have the choice of being picky either, for he was running out of money, had run out of friends and the Mafia, word had, still had a bounty on his head, though fortuantely he'd managed to stay one step ahead of them.
