Thomas Smith was born in the enclave, raised in the enclave, went to school in the enclave, and grew up to work for the Corp. Both of his parents worked in the Corp as accountants, and were proud to see their son graduate from Seattle State University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Tom toiled away for years in the mega corps, living his pathetic little 8-6 wage-slave job. His only excitement of the day was having lunch with the office Spyder and the White Hats, some of his old childhood friends. (Not the local rock band) He would take supplement classes on the ‘trix at home. He would take vacation time and come in with his White Hat buddies and help patrol the Corp node for trouble just as an extra set of eyes for the IC. One day he was in VR on patrol, he found it, his way out of this repetitive hell, it was his personnel file. That week he spent packing up every thing he could and moving it to a storage unit he paid for with cash. He went back to the node a deleted his own file, he deleted every thing. His birth certificate, gone. His driver’s license, erased. His high school diploma, removed. All record of his four years at SSU, void. He was … SINless!
His buddies pulled him from the system immediately, before he was detected as an unauthorized entry, slipped him past security and onto the street, with one request. Don’t call us for help, ever!
That night Secure was born.
