So Jimbo wants to play a close up combatant. I'll either go with a distance combatant, or a tech head depending on if other people seem interested in playing. I won't be able to really into any games until after the New Year. So I hope no one is bummed about that?

Hey if we don't get a tech guy I'll play Dex, it doesn't matter to me i'm happy with either one

Just remember guys that this is the start of a campaign and you need to make sure that your characters reflect that. The intention is for these characters to grow. Also make sure that they are actually 400BP characters and that they adhere to the rules when making a Shadowrun character.

heh, I finally got Drax there... he was the first 4th ed character I had tried building, so I sorta fubared that. After LOTS more reading He was ready to go. But his background doesn't lend well to the concept of being a first time runner. I've got two characters in mind that fit that better, and they are gold. I'm up for sending you the .sr4 file if you want it. I'm going to post them on myth-weavers since that has a better character sheet.

I've picked the character I want, but he has to be fine tuned. I have a question on how you want to rule on this.

Problem: Can I add modifications to a weapon if the weapon and modification would together be higher than availability 12? i.e. Can I take my Areas Super Squirt, availability 4, and add a Chameleon Coating, availability 10, to it?

I know that some GMs rule that you can't add mods to glasses or goggles that would add up to more than 12. i.e. low light, 4; thermal, 4; and ultrasound, 8.

Does that mean the mods can't be combined to be higher than 12, or the total including the glasses or goggles they are in?

As a general rule, most GM's do not allow it as one then interferes with the other in some way. It is difficult to find the 'perfect' piece of equipment.

So, I guess I am the same. Sorry - but good question - if ya don't ask, ya don't know. Have you read the first part of Silver Fox?

I'll post the Character later today or tomorrow. Yeah, I read the Silver Fox intro. Second Day as a runner. It's perfect for this character.

I think im going to use Priest Sarah Gaven, i want to use a character like her, someone more agile than your usual runner, and i think she has room for growth as well, not to mention she has a little bit of a face added in for flavor, so she isn't just run and gun.

Whatever works for you wngd_phantom. Now that we have the character sorted, go to SILVER FOX and post 'in game' so we can at least begin.

Another question. I've got a little more than 300 nuyen left for my character build. Is it cool if I "use" that to buy some stuff that's not in the books? Like a duffel bag to haul crap in? Or a panel in the trunk/boot of his sedan to hide his assault rifle and supper squirt under? You know, a sort of "hidden" compartment. I was thinking he just sort of modified his spare tire compartment, threw a plank of wood over it, and a carpet over that. If not the hidden compartment, then how about holsters on the bottom of the trunk/boot lid to store them in so they aren't flying around back there.

I was thinking of Striker as military buddy from Boot. He was placed in charge of Surplus items, and decided to make a little money on the side by finding items that were "destroyed" new homes. I sort of see him as a fixer dealing with military surplus. He would deal mostly with mercs and rebel/terrorist groups.

Hey guys, just popping in to see what kind of character you need for this run.

I'm looking to bring in Mr. Grey (driver/face) or possibly a hacker/technomancer.

If neither of those are needed, I have a little thiefy guy who is kinda neat.

If neither of those are needed, I'll just roll a new one.

I'm heading to read the posts so far in Silver Fox, so just chime in and let me know what you need.

I just need to clear a few things with Tani first.

Whats happening guys - the run is slowing down somewhat. Post in as regularly as you can to keep it going.

I think we have slowed down due to holidays. although we are still going by pretty well.
