Background:
Only Child of a Army supply clerk and his wife, Katrina grew up bouncing from base to base as her Father worked his best to provide for his family. Thus it was no surprise when at a young age Katrina took a shine to hanging around the motor pool and in general being underfoot on base. That fascination with high performance machines, and ultimately the even bigger fascination with the people who drove them lead to Katrina falling in with the wrong crowd far too easily in her teenage years. To state she was headed down the wrong track would be a gross understatement, and thus it came as no surprise to her parents when base MP's showed up one night with Katrina in tow after they'd caught her and her newest boyfriend taking a joyride in one of the base service vehicles.
While the infraction would have normally been blown off with a simple reprimand from her parent's the fact that Katrina had totaled the vehicle, and in the process the base commander's new sports car as well meant that this time ulike the few before she was going to have to face the music. Given a choice between the military and jail, she took the path she knew and in fairly short order was rising through the ranks despite chronic discipline problems.
When an oppertunity to sign up for the 3rd Cavalry opened up she jumped at the chance, and signed on for ellective surgery and training. 8 months later she found herself deployed on border patrol duties along the UCAS side of Denver. It was there ultimately that a smuggler managed to scramble her drone link bad enough to leave Katrina in a coma for 3 days. Deemed medically unfit for duty, the military retired her out on Medical disability at the age of 24. Left with few options, and having sunk most of her one time settlement into surplus hardware purchases from the military because she couldn't bear the thought of her "friends" being reprogrammed and given to other pilots, she decided to move to Seattle and find a job making a living however she can. Thanks to an old unit member of hers, she has only recently entered the high risk game that is Seattle's shadow community. Desperate to make a name for herself, she now bounces from club to club looking for work whenever it comes up.
