Who said running the shadows was easy? Dodging bullets, swords, spirits, and spells just to name a few. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, even the occasional Dragon can make any Shadowrun go bad. |

| So, I'm going to be a bit more busy than normal this week. It's Humans vs. Zombies week! And I'm sorry but living out a post-apocalyptic scenario on campus with nerf guns is more fun than writing about it. :3 Of course, by 'busier than normal' I mean not living on this site 24/7. | |

| I've also decided to use this as sort of journal to my experiences during this harrowing event. Right now I am about to suit up and head out into the wasteland. I shall keep you updated on my status if... when I return! | |

| I got to the diner without incident, and then met up with a squad headed in the direction of my class. It was my first experience with other survivors since the first infection, and the first thing I learned is that trust is about as rare as safety in this day and age. They demanded proof that I wasn't infected, despite the fact that I was armed, which is understandable. After assuring them I was clean, they made me take point... the price I had to pay for the safety provided by numbers.
I split off from them just outside my class and made it without incident. Sitting through the lecture was hard... it's tough to care about stocks and shareholders when people are out there fighting for their lives, and dying by the dozens.
After class I took the back exit and met up with another group, this one much less organized. They accepted me with them, and we went zombie hunting, determined to keep the campus secure. We traveled over to the library and then started heading to the student center. On the way we ran into a lone survivor who told us of roving bands of 15+ zombies stocking around the Hub, and of survivors possibly trapped inside. We decided to mount a rescue operation. We ran in at breakneck speed, towards the back entrance. There were two guys waiting inside, afraid to leave, so we let them join us and made a safe retreat, no zombies spotted. Then we continued on our way to the student center, only to spot some dead zombies. Apparently there had already been some action, and we missed it. So we defended the lawn area for a bit, but then the guys decided to head off somewhere else, and there were two guys we met who needed another gun to make it back to the library, so I went with them. We cut around back to go the safe route, and made it to the library just fine.
Much to our surprise, we found out that an industrious survivor had set up a gun shop outside the library, selling nerf guns, ammo, flashlights, water bottles, and snacks. He needed guards, so I hung out there for a bit to keep a lookout. No zombies attacked today, but we're expecting it to be a major target as the zombie apocalypse continues. After that I wandered around with some patrols for a bit, but we didn't get any action.
Then I decided to head home, so I split off from the group, saying my goodbyes. I noticed two other survivors headed the same way, apparently they were boyfriend and girlfriend, so I joined up with them and we traveled together. Unfortunately, our path took us through a construction area, with a fence that turned the place into a funnel. We noticed a zombie eying us, but he went in the opposite direction and we kept moving. Then I spotted him tailing us. So I kept my gun trained on him as we backed up, and the guy behind me said, 'we should watch out for an ambush from in front.' At that very instant, we passed a wall, and a zombie jumped out at us, and the guy behind us started charging. I had him lined up, but the other girl jumped in front of me, knocking my gun out of the way. She got tagged, but fortunately I was able to lift my gun up and shoot over her shoulder to hit the zombie in the chest. I would have been killed by the waiting zombie if it weren't for the guy, who threw a sock at the zombie just before he tagged both of us. We got away, but the guy's girlfriend was dead. We mourned her death, policed the area for ammo, and then continued on.
I made it home with only one other hitch, a zombie hiding around a corner. Luckily I was smart enough to give the corner a large enough clearance to let me put the undead sucker out of his misery, and from there I managed to sprint until I made it to the safety of my dorm.

| All hail the Sock of Disruption, that implement of undead-slayage that no zombie hunter should ever leave home without. | |

| I heard by word of mouth that some survivors are organizing a fact-finding mission in a couple hours. They're meeting at the library to see if we can do some research. Naturally I cannot let this opportunity go by: knowledge is power, and lord knows we could use all the power we can get.
I just can't help but worry that such a gathering of survivors like this will be a very appealing target for the undead hordes. I hope I make it alright.
I'll keep you updated if... when I get back.

| I'm so tired. I don't think I can manage a full update, sorry guys. Just know that I'm okay, if sore from sprinting all over campus. Accomplished two missions today. Hopefully the resistance lives on. I don't know if I will...

| Made it through another day. Did three hours of successful escort runs, narrowly escaped death multiple times, made it into and out of the dining center (one of the hottest spots on campus) twice. Then we participated in Mission 3, and I have the honor of saying I was the one who recovered the letter to find out where we had to go, through a zombie infested area. Then I stayed behind as part of the diversionary group to distract the horde, holing up in one of the classrooms and barricading the door with a podium. We hid between the desks with the lights off for about 25 minutes before coming out, and I met up with a group of survivors heading the same way, making it home safely. I haven't heard from my squadmates though... and intel is sketchy at best. I dunno if the main group accomplished the mission or not. I'm hoping I hear from someone soon!

| They're dead. They're dead. Just found out... the rest of my squad is dead.
I'm all alone.
The mission was a success, but at what cost? I feel like crap.
