Who said running the shadows was easy? Dodging bullets, swords, spirits, and spells just to name a few. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, even the occasional Dragon can make any Shadowrun go bad.

I hate to run out on the party, but I've gotta go. Got a term paper that needs to be completed and class in the morning. Paradox, feel free to roll initiative for Skuld's sprite. I'll post in the morning if I can.

Nerok, Durandana, best of luck to both of you.

And yep, it's prepped.. Oops, deleted that part with some of the text. I'll put it back in before I go.

Oh no! Shocked

Sorry for one-shotting your character. SR combat can be so brutal... Sad

Anyway, I'm going to bed too. I'll expand my post tomorrow since it was so abysmally short. I just wanted to get the combat going. I'll have a real post with her reaction to the process soon.

Bah, I should be in bed... >.<

Anyway, I edited my post ahead of schedule, and you might want to change yours, Neurok. I was waiting for the result of the shooting, but I hadn't ended my IP. Once Shadow is dropped, I'm moving behind the pillar for cover, so if you want to shoot Ashley you'll have to take the -6 Blind Fire penalty, or move to somewhere with a vantage point on her cover spot (to the right one and up one from the pillar).

I still act in that first pass too, my action is to move up and shoot you after you shot him.

I think T_Hawk forgot something in his roll (either not using enough Edge dice or forgetting about armor), but I don't have time to scour through the books this second. I don't want him taken down entirely before he even has a chance to do any action. In the worst case, GM fiat says he's stunned to the point of 1 stun box open, and his first IP action is dropping the thermal smoke grenade.

Ah-hah! Here's the kicker! Bear found it.

Apparently in Shadowrun the word 'immediate' doesn't mean 'immediately,' interestingly enough. T_Hawk, you have till the end of the combat turn to play without ill effects from the drug. Smile

Ugh. This is what I get for posting when I'm bone-tired and not thinking straight. Sorry for all the confusion last night, guys: like I alluded, I'd been working literally all day on a term paper, and my mind was none too sharp.

I'll alter my post. I read up on caspule rounds... it said that they "splash" their target when they hit, so I'm going to assume Shadow can differentiate between one and a regular gel round (could I get a ruling on that please, Paradox? I hate metagaming, even when I'm the one doing it, so it'd made me feel better to know someone else agrees with that interpretation.)

I already accounted for the damage being stun, I just forgot to note it as such. I'll correct that too.

Yeah, I was tired too, plus I've never used capsule rounds or toxins before.

Not to mention PC vs. PC combat is pretty rare.

Eh, I've not even got that as an excuse. One of the first runs I did had the antagonist be another PC.

I also noted some mistakes in my Skuld post (apparently I can't add when I'm tired, either) and am correcting those as well.

I'm going to wait on a ruling from Paradox on something, but none of my actions should change the battle-field this turn.

Actually, Skuld got 16. I made a math error last night when I posted it. Dunno how I thought 12 + 4 = 14. Ugh. I'm writing up her post now.

Okay, I finally figured out why Neurok and I were having communication problems about position. I read the T as the location of Tricks, and the other letters as the locations of the other 'runners. I'm used to Fantasy Grounds where the character's icon includes a label that identifies them, as opposed to needing an icon and a label, which... I still think is a bit weird.

Anyway, that makes it all make sense. I'll edit my post to match the correct locations but everything remains the same in terms of rolls, results, ending position, etc.

OK. First, thanks everyone for double-checking each other's work. (I figure that'll be part of playing as a team!!!)

Here's where I think we are:

Round 1, IP Pass 2
Tricks has completed her pass

Shadow is on the ground in bad shape. 1 box on the stun monitor still open, -2 to all tests due to hallucinations/disorientation, but in a cloud of thermal smoke and with a medkit attached. Medkit is applying first aid. Roll Medkit rating (2) test, because you're not actively helping it. After (medkit rating) combat turns, you'll reduce your stun damage by (medkit hits - 2) boxes.

It's Shadow's/Nerin's (simultaneous) turn in IP pass 2.

OK, after looking through SR4 core quickly, it looks like sprite initiative is Pilot + Response, with three IPs. (SR4 p. 230). I can't see anywhere that says a node's Response is taken into effect.

For the purposes of the IC in the corner, it is on full defense.

Okay. Does that mean Medkit at Threshold 2, or medkit (rating reduced to 2)

Also, I'm assuming from this that since Shadow only has 11 stun monitor, I've been reading the rules on toxins wrong. With 2 shots at 8 power, should he actually be into overflow from the damage by now? (6S + 7S = 13S) Am I missing something? (again, dead tired and brain has clocked out.)

Sprites share many traits with agents. Since I've not yet found any place in the book that specifies sprite initiative (and I may well be over-looking it- as I've mentioned before, I am dead dog tired an brain-dead atm) I assumed that they would work similarly to agents there.

Regardless, I'll update Shadow (and Skuld if necessary) with new info as soon as I hear back from you.

Medkit rating, threshold 2.

I thought the 2nd hit did no damage. If I misread, then yeah, you're into physical overflow. Also, you'll end up unconscious. (SR4 Core, p. 153.) "When Stun damage overflows in this manner, the character also falls unconscious; he or she does not regain consciousness until some of the Stun damage is healed and removed from the Stun column." (This is what I get for replying at 2 AM!!!!)

SR4 core, p. 230 - Agents, IC and Sprite Initiative. "Agents, IC and sprites have an Initiative equal to Pilot + Response. Because they act at digits speeds, they receive 2 extra initiative passes (three total)."
