Mirikon Mollen (AKA Iceblade) -- Kuro Tenshi

Born in Tir Tairngir, Mirikon Mollen was a low level grunt, working security for a subsidiary of Wuxing in the elven lands. Mirikon's talent for magic, though, bumped him up through the ranks quickly, since a combat mage as backup for normal security forces was always a desirable thing to have. His life was far from perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than those poor schmucks who were living on the streets. Life, all in all, was good. And then Crash 2.0 happened.

The subsidiary that Mirikon worked for got hit hard by the Crash. Hard enough that Wuxing decided to cut it loose, in order to keep it from affecting their credit rating too badly. Another corp snapped up the newly orphaned subsidiary. Of course people were worried about getting laid off, and all the changes that were gonna happen when a new boss takes over. That would have been mild in comparison to what actually happened.

The new bosses decided that they needed a fresh start. The few people they wished to keep were told to take the day off. When everyone else got in to work, the new bosses sealed the compound shut, and dumped several containers of ghouls into the compound, with some loup-garou to control them. What resulted was enough to make even the most hard core trooper lose his lunch. Mirikon and the other security personnel tried to hold off the Infected, but there were too many of them. In the end, the only reason Mirikon survived is because his squad managed to hold off the infected long enough for one of the science types to build a bomb, and get it to the outer wall. Flashboombang, and they had an escape route.

Only five people, Mirikon included, survived the purge, but they didn't get away unscathed. The others turned into Ghouls shortly thereafter, but Mirikon had the (mis)fortune to be bitten by a fomoraig. And while he had shot the damn thing's head off before it could do too much damage, he wasn't quick enough to keep from being infected. Fortunately for him, the strain of HMHVV that caused Loup-garou didn't affect elves. Unfortunately for him, he was now a carrier for the strain.

Given the brutal way that the corp had cleaned house, Mirikon knew that he needed to get out of town. He left, making his way out of Tir Tairngir, heading to Seattle. Using the money he had left from his old life, he got the tools he needed to run the shadows, and tried to put his old life behind him. But he still had nightmares about that day at the compound.

He ran under the handle Iceblade. Sure, he took some flak for such a cheesy name at first. But after using his blade and ice magic to kill a troll in front of his crew, those comments stopped, for the most part.

Carrier (-5 bp) - Mirikon is a carrier of the strain of HMHVV II that causes Loup-garou. While he suffers no ill effects from it, tests show that Mirikon is infected, and his bodily fluids can pass the disease on to others. He takes a -2 dice pool penalty on all social tests with metahumans and sasquatches that know he is HMHVV positive.

1. No foci/focuses at all. For me, these are earnt through spending Karma points and other players have had to swallow it as well. At first they were not happy but now they have no problems at all.

2. The gear I prefer is the standard gear at this stage. Later on, better gear can be 'found'.

3. You have a lot of qualities, both negative and positive - do not expect me not to act on them because I will be. This may or may not be beneficial for you. Your choice.

4. The characters that have been made for this run are just 'beginning' their careers as shadowrunners. The idea is that the character is then grown by you through Karma. This allows you to play well for the Karma points.

Jane Green (AKA Motoko Kusanagi, The Major)

Jane Green was born in Neo-Tokyo, daughter of a Japanese woman and a minor functionary at the UCAS embassy there. She's had full UCAS citizenship from birth.

Growing up, Jane didn't have much in the way of a normal childhood. Her closest friend was Kurosaki Isao, son of a local Yakuza boss, who was about her age. Pretty much their childhood, Jane and Isao could be found having some adventure or another throughout Neo-Tokyo. They made their guards furious at times, when they would sneak away to go exploring through the city.

When he was eighteen, Isao was sent to Seattle by his father, to act as a liason between the family in Seattle and the main branch back in Neo-Tokyo. He'd just reached Seattle when the first throes of Crash 2.0 went down. Jane was online during that little bit of craziness, chatting with her friend.

Jane, only sixteen at the time, went into a coma as the Dissonance worm hit her node. She stayed that way for a month, and when she woke up, she felt different. She didn't understand it much herself, but she could feel the new wireless matrix flowing through her.

When she turned eighteen, Jane got her father's permission to move to Seattle. She told him that she wanted to learn more about the UCAS, and what better way to learn about it than to live there, and do a bit of real work?

In Seattle, Jane rekindled her friendship with Isao, and that sparked into a full-fledged romance between the two childhood friends. Jane got a job working for a local Anime/Manga fanzine, reviewing and reporting on everything going on in the Anime world. Sure, she got a monthly salary, but Jane couldn't live off that, not in the way she wanted to.

To make the difference, she turned to running the shadows. She took the alias Motoko Kusanagi, or The Major, after a popular figure from an old Anime show. Using her Technomancer abilities to their fullest, Motoko began to build a reputation for herself, and got the money she needed to keep herself living the high life.

Background:
Born to Tir Tairngir aristocrats who wanted to get back to their 'traditional' elven roots, Shallinia was a normal child growing up. When she grew older, she studied with an elf master of ninjutsu who fled Japan shortly after the first Crash, due to some... issues with the Yakuza. Using her adept abilities to their fullest, Shallinia became one of his greatest students.

Following Crash 2.0, Shallinia found herself suddenly SINless, and with more than one person looking to put a bullet in her. So she relocated to Seattle, and began running the streets, under the codename Nightingale.

Hannah Dubois

Hannah grew up down in the CAS, over in the bayous of Louisiana, near New Orleans. She came from a long line of voodoo priestesses, back to the days when the French first took up shop in New Orleans. From the time she was a young girl, Hannah was schooled in the ways of voodoo.

Only thing was, Hannah's mind took her down dark roads. She began calling out to the spirits, but the ones who answered weren't always the kind that her mother sought. When drifters began to disappear at the same time that Hannah would go out into the woods for her rituals, her mother and grandmother began to fear the worst. They followed Hannah one night, and saw her sacrificing a struggling elf woman in order to summon a shadow spirit, a succubus.

When they tried to confront Hannah, she turned the power of the spirit upon them. Both women were powerless in the face of the spirit, as it coerced them to engage in acts that can only be described as intimate, while it fed upon them. When her mother and grandmother were unconscious, Hannah sacrificed them as well, using their essence to summon and bind two other spirits to her side, one a guardian to fight for her, the other a guide to aid her in the casting of illusions.

Knowing that she could not remain in New Orleans after what had happened, Hannah took off, running to Seattle, where she could hide in the shadows, and make her own way in the world.

Mirikon Mollen (AKA Iceblade) - ... And High Water

Born in Tir Tairngir, Mirikon Mollen was a low level grunt, working security for a subsidiary of Wuxing in the elven lands. Mirikon's talent for magic, though, bumped him up through the ranks quickly, since a combat mage as backup for normal security forces was always a desirable thing to have. His life was far from perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than those poor schmucks who were living on the streets. Life, all in all, was good. And then Crash 2.0 happened.

The subsidiary that Mirikon worked for got hit hard by the Crash. Hard enough that Wuxing decided to cut it loose, in order to keep it from affecting their credit rating too badly. Another corp snapped up the newly orphaned subsidiary. Of course people were worried about getting laid off, and all the changes that were gonna happen when a new boss takes over. That would have been mild in comparison to what actually happened.

The new bosses decided that they needed a fresh start. The few people they wished to keep were told to take the day off. When everyone else got in to work, the new bosses sealed the compound shut, and dumped several containers of ghouls into the compound, with some loup-garou to control them. What resulted was enough to make even the most hard core trooper lose his lunch. Mirikon and the other security personnel tried to hold off the Infected, but there were too many of them. In the end, the only reason Mirikon survived is because his squad managed to hold off the infected long enough for one of the science types to build a bomb, and get it to the outer wall. Flashboombang, and they had an escape route.

Only five people, Mirikon included, survived the purge, but they didn't get away unscathed. The others turned into Ghouls shortly thereafter, but Mirikon had the (mis)fortune to be bitten by a fomoraig. And while he had shot the damn thing's head off before it could do too much damage, he wasn't quick enough to keep from being infected. Fortunately for him, the strain of HMHVV that caused Loup-garou didn't affect elves. Unfortunately for him, he was now a carrier for the strain.

Given the brutal way that the corp had cleaned house, Mirikon knew that he needed to get out of town. He left, making his way out of Tir Tairngir, heading to Seattle. Using the money he had left from his old life, he got the tools he needed to run the shadows, and tried to put his old life behind him. But he still had nightmares about that day at the compound.

He ran under the handle Iceblade. Sure, he took some flak for such a cheesy name at first. But after using his blade and ice magic to kill a troll in front of his crew, those comments stopped, for the most part.

Jane Green, AKA Motoko Kusanagi, The Major (For Darkness Falls)

Jane Green was born in Neo-Tokyo, daughter of a Japanese woman and a minor functionary at the UCAS embassy there. She's had full UCAS citizenship from birth.

Growing up, Jane didn't have much in the way of a normal childhood. Her closest friend was Kurosaki Isao, son of a local Yakuza boss, who was about her age. Pretty much their childhood, Jane and Isao could be found having some adventure or another throughout Neo-Tokyo. They made their guards furious at times, when they would sneak away to go exploring through the city.

When he was eighteen, Isao was sent to Seattle by his father, to act as a liason between the family in Seattle and the main branch back in Neo-Tokyo. He'd just reached Seattle when the first throes of Crash 2.0 went down. Jane was online during that little bit of craziness, chatting with her friend.

Jane, only sixteen at the time, went into a coma as the Dissonance worm hit her node. She stayed that way for a month, and when she woke up, she felt different. She didn't understand it much herself, but she could feel the new wireless matrix flowing through her.

When she turned eighteen, Jane got her father's permission to move to Seattle. She told him that she wanted to learn more about the UCAS, and what better way to learn about it than to live there, and do a bit of real work?

In Seattle, Jane rekindled her friendship with Isao, and that sparked into a full-fledged romance between the two childhood friends. Jane got a job working for a local Anime/Manga fanzine, reviewing and reporting on everything going on in the Anime world. Sure, she got a monthly salary, but Jane couldn't live off that, not in the way she wanted to.

She couldn't get a place in Isao's Yakuza family, since she was a woman, so instead she turned to running the shadows. She took the alias Motoko Kusanagi, or The Major, after a popular figure from an old Anime show. Using her Technomancer abilities to their fullest, Motoko began to build a reputation for herself, and got the money she needed to keep herself living the high life.

Motoko's van has been heavily armored, and modified to the point where it is almost an APC. However, the chameleon coating on the outside of the van allows it to blend in to surrounding areas, sometimes taking the guise of a private security vehicle.

Mirikon Mollen (AKA Iceblade) -- Something Went Wrong

Born in Tir Tairngir, Mirikon Mollen was a low level grunt, working security for a subsidiary of Wuxing in the elven lands. Mirikon's talent for magic, though, bumped him up through the ranks quickly, since a combat mage as backup for normal security forces was always a desirable thing to have. His life was far from perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than those poor schmucks who were living on the streets. Life, all in all, was good. And then Crash 2.0 happened.

The subsidiary that Mirikon worked for got hit hard by the Crash. Hard enough that Wuxing decided to cut it loose, in order to keep it from affecting their credit rating too badly. Another corp snapped up the newly orphaned subsidiary. Of course people were worried about getting laid off, and all the changes that were gonna happen when a new boss takes over. That would have been mild in comparison to what actually happened.

The new bosses decided that they needed a fresh start. The few people they wished to keep were told to take the day off. When everyone else got in to work, the new bosses sealed the compound shut, and dumped several containers of ghouls into the compound, with some loup-garou to control them. What resulted was enough to make even the most hard core trooper lose his lunch. Mirikon and the other security personnel tried to hold off the Infected, but there were too many of them. In the end, the only reason Mirikon survived is because his squad managed to hold off the infected long enough for one of the science types to build a bomb, and get it to the outer wall. Flashboombang, and they had an escape route.

Only three people, Mirikon included, were able to escape the purge. They managed to make it to the hospital, where doctors treated their wounds. Unfortunately, the other two people suffered 'accidents' in the middle of the night, about the same time that Mirikon stabbed someone in the throat when he caught him trying to lace his IV with something.

Given the brutal way that the corp had cleaned house, and how they had tried a second time to cover their tracks, Mirikon knew that he needed to get out of town. He left, making his way out of Tir Tairngir, heading to Seattle. Using the money he had left from his old life, he got the tools he needed to run the shadows, and tried to put his old life behind him. But he still had nightmares about that day at the compound.

He ran under the handle Iceblade. Sure, he took some flak for such a cheesy name at first. But after using his blade and ice magic to kill a troll in front of his crew, those comments stopped, for the most part.

Since then, he's made a name for himself as a reliable runner, who usually gets things done. His lot in life has improved a bit, and he's found he likes running the shadows a lot more than he enjoyed the Corp lifestyle.

If it succeeds, DV is Force plus one per net hit on the success test, resisted by body + 1/2 Impact armor. This is a cold elemental attack.

Manabolt - Mana, LOS, Instant. Drain: (F/2)
With this spell, Mirikon sends forth a bolt of purely magical energy, that rips at the essence of living creatures. Resisted by WIL.

Astral Armor (Self Only) - Mana, T, Instant. Drain: (F/2)
A more limited version of the astral armor spell, this spell provides Mirikon with protection from astral threats, giving him one point of astral armor per hit. However, the spell cannot be cast on others.

Orgasm - Mana, LOS, Sustained. Drain: (F/2)-2
With this spell, Mirikon targets a person and overwhelms their body with physical pleasure. Each net hit scored by Mirikon applies a -1 dice pool modifier to all the target's actions as they gasp and gush. Resisted by Willpower.

A limited version of the Cold Aura spell, Mirikon can use this spell to wreath himself in icy cold energy. This energy has no effect on him, but it increases the DV of his melee attacks by the number of hits scored. Melee attacks also deal Cold damage, and hit against half Impact armor. Anyone making a successful melee attack against him must resist similar damage from the aura. Aura's DV equals the spell's Force.

With this spell, Mirikon can throw down a sheet of extremely slick ice, causing all creatures in the area to make an Agility+Reaction test with a threshold equal to the number of hits scored to avoid falling prone. Vehicles must make a Crash Test.

Dana Jones - Darkness Falls

Background:
Born in Seattle, Dana Jones never knew her father. Her mother always said that he was a powerful man, but wouldn't go into it more than that. When she died in the 'accident' involving her car and a few pounds of C4, her will said for Dana to go to the monks at the Shaolin Temple on the outskirts of the city.

The monks raised the young woman, and through their teachings, she was able to uncover her powers, both as an adept and as a Drake, a human capable of turning into a dragon. It was then that the monks told her of her father, the dragon named Charon.

It was Charon who set her out upon the road of running the shadows, telling her that it would be good practice, if she wished to gain more power, power enough to shape the world as she saw fit. And it beat working for a living, afterall.

Jane Green, AKA Motoko Kusanagi, AKA The Major - jo-chan's run

Jane Green was born in Neo-Tokyo, daughter of a Japanese woman and a minor functionary at the UCAS embassy there. She's had full UCAS citizenship from birth.

Growing up, Jane didn't have much in the way of a normal childhood. Her closest friend was Kurosaki Isao, son of a local Yakuza boss, who was about her age. Pretty much their childhood, Jane and Isao could be found having some adventure or another throughout Neo-Tokyo. They made their guards furious at times, when they would sneak away to go exploring through the city.

When he was eighteen, Isao was sent to Seattle by his father, to act as a liason between the family in Seattle and the main branch back in Neo-Tokyo. He'd just reached Seattle when the first throes of Crash 2.0 went down. Jane was online during that little bit of craziness, chatting with her friend.

Jane, only sixteen at the time, went into a coma as the Dissonance worm hit her node. She stayed that way for a month, and when she woke up, she felt different. She didn't understand it much herself, but she could feel the new wireless matrix flowing through her.

When she turned eighteen, Jane got her father's permission to move to Seattle. She told him that she wanted to learn more about the UCAS, and what better way to learn about it than to live there, and do a bit of real work?

In Seattle, Jane rekindled her friendship with Isao, and that sparked into a full-fledged romance between the two childhood friends. Jane got a job working for a local Anime/Manga fanzine, reviewing and reporting on everything going on in the Anime world. Sure, she got a monthly salary, but Jane couldn't live off that, not in the way she wanted to.

She couldn't get a place in Isao's Yakuza family, since she was a woman, so instead she turned to running the shadows. She took the alias Motoko Kusanagi, or The Major, after a popular figure from an old Anime show. Using her Technomancer abilities to their fullest, Motoko began to build a reputation for herself, and got the money she needed to keep herself living the high life.

Nekomusumi -- Moral Test
Hizumaia Reika was born in Neo-Tokyo, daughter of an upper level Manager in Renraku's corporate structure, who was on the fast track for advancement through the company. From an early age, she was obsessed with anime, often dressing up like one of the nekomusumi (catgirls) that were a staple of so many of her favorite shows.

However, when she started getting enhancements to her body in order to actually become a nekomusumi, her father was outraged. Having a daughter who was so out of the norm could endanger his hopes for advancement. So, when she was 18, Reika was shipped off to Seattle, where she wouldn't be any trouble to her father.

For the next two years, Reika struggled to get by, barely making enough to survive. It was only when she ran into her friend Kasimoto Ato that she found a way to truly support herself. With his help, she entered the shadows, and actually managed to get a few easy runs under her belt. Running as Nekomusumi (or Neko for short), she was on her way to a comfortable, and fun, life.

Faust
If you asked him, the man known only as Faust would say that he was born on December 19, 2059, even though he's clearly older than that. For Faust did not exist before that day. Before then, there was a man named Jack Chambers, a security guard for Renraku America at their SCIRE facility in Seattle. He had only recently joined the ranks of the Red Samurai, the elite guards, when the AI Deus took over the arcology. Jack Chambers was one of the first men taken by the AI, and converted into a servant of Deus. Jack Chambers ceased to be, and there was only Faust, one of the Banded, a blue with five stripes upon his arm.

Faust served Lord Deus faithfully, bound by the psychotropic conditioning of the AI, helping fight against the Resistance, and procure 'test subjects' for his experiments, as the AI plotted its escape from the Arcology. After the Arcology was retaken, Faust manged to slip away in the confusion, taking to the shadows as he sought some way to rebuild his life, without the constant presence of Lord Deus in his mind.

For ten years, Faust worked the shadows, living through the Crash, and witnessing the rise of the Technomancers as the wireless world took off. He retained close ties with Rhapsody, a White banded that he had been responsible for protecting while the Arcology was under Deus's control. She had become a technomancer, and he still had the Red Samurai armor that he had been issued before the shutdown, though now he had it painted black, with five red bands showing on the right arm. But the armor was too distinctive for most situations, so he had other outfits for going out and about.

Another of the former Banded, his lieutenant, Carter, worked as a security guard in the newly rechristened Arcology, helping keep the residents in check. With his help, Faust made several runs back into his old home, even into the topmost floors, where Lord Deus's other servants and traps still remained.

As Faust, only a very few people knew who he truly was, and what he'd done in the Arcology, all of them former Banded themselves. No one living remembers Jack Chambers, which is likely for the best, as Jack Chambers is no more.

Mirikon Mollen (AKA Iceblade) -- Parliament of Thieves

Born in Tir Tairngir, Mirikon Mollen was a low level grunt, working security for a subsidiary of Wuxing in the elven lands. Mirikon's talent for magic, though, bumped him up through the ranks quickly, since a combat mage as backup for normal security forces was always a desirable thing to have. His life was far from perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than those poor schmucks who were living on the streets. Life, all in all, was good. And then Crash 2.0 happened.

The subsidiary that Mirikon worked for got hit hard by the Crash. Hard enough that Wuxing decided to cut it loose, in order to keep it from affecting their credit rating too badly. Another corp snapped up the newly orphaned subsidiary. Of course people were worried about getting laid off, and all the changes that were gonna happen when a new boss takes over. That would have been mild in comparison to what actually happened.

The new bosses decided that they needed a fresh start. The few people they wished to keep were told to take the day off. When everyone else got in to work, the new bosses sealed the compound shut, and dumped several containers of ghouls into the compound, with some loup-garou to control them. What resulted was enough to make even the most hard core trooper lose his lunch.

Mirikon and the other security personnel tried to hold off the Infected, but there were too many of them. In the end, the only reason Mirikon survived is because his squad managed to hold off the infected long enough for one of the science types to build a bomb, and get it to the outer wall. Flashboombang, and they had an escape route.

Only three people, Mirikon included, were able to escape the purge. They managed to make it to the hospital, where doctors treated their wounds. Unfortunately, the other two people suffered 'accidents' in the middle of the night, about the same time that Mirikon stabbed someone in the throat when he caught him trying to lace his IV with something.

Given the brutal way that the corp had cleaned house, and how they had tried a second time to cover their tracks, Mirikon knew that he needed to get out of town. He left, making his way out of Tir Tairngir, heading to Seattle. Using the money he had left from his old life, he got the tools he needed to run the shadows, and tried to put his old life behind him. But he still had nightmares about that day at the compound.

He ran under the handle Iceblade, never telling anyone his true name. Sure, he took some flak for such a cheesy name at first. But after using his blade
and ice magic to kill a troll in front of his crew, those comments stopped, for the most part.

Since then, he's made a name for himself as a reliable runner, who usually gets things done. His lot in life has improved a bit, and he's found he likes running the shadows a lot more than he enjoyed the Corp lifestyle.

With this spell, Mirikon sends forth a bolt of purely magical energy, that rips at the essence of living creatures. Resisted by WILL.

With this spell, Mirikon can heal wounds in himself or others, which is obviously of value to him. Hits can be divided between removing damage and reducing the amount of time the spell must be sustained to become permanent as the caster sees fit.

Mirikon Mollen (AKA Iceblade) -- Best Served Cold

Born in Tir Tairngir, Mirikon Mollen was a low level grunt, working security for a subsidiary of Wuxing in the elven lands. Mirikon's talent for magic, though, bumped him up through the ranks quickly, since a combat mage as backup for normal security forces was always a desirable thing to have. His life was far from perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than those poor schmucks who were living on the streets. Life, all in all, was good. And then Crash 2.0 happened.

The subsidiary that Mirikon worked for got hit hard by the Crash. Hard enough that Wuxing decided to cut it loose, in order to keep it from affecting their credit rating too badly. Another corp snapped up the newly orphaned subsidiary. Of course people were worried about getting laid off, and all the changes that were gonna happen when a new boss takes over. That would have been mild in comparison to what actually happened.

The new bosses decided that they needed a fresh start. The few people they wished to keep were told to take the day off. When everyone else got in to work, the new bosses sealed the compound shut, and dumped several containers of ghouls into the compound, with some loup-garou to control them. What resulted was enough to make even the most hard core trooper lose his lunch. Mirikon and the other security personnel tried to hold off the Infected, but there were too many of them. In the end, the only reason Mirikon survived is because his squad managed to hold off the infected long enough for one of the science types to build a bomb, and get it to the outer wall. Flashboombang, and they had an escape route.

Only three people, Mirikon included, were able to escape the purge. They managed to make it to the hospital, where doctors treated their wounds. Unfortunately, the other two people suffered 'accidents' in the middle of the night, about the same time that Mirikon stabbed someone in the throat when he caught him trying to lace his IV with something.

Given the brutal way that the corp had cleaned house, and how they had tried a second time to cover their tracks, Mirikon knew that he needed to get out of town. He left, making his way out of Tir Tairngir, heading to Seattle. Using the money he had left from his old life, he got the tools he needed to run the shadows, and tried to put his old life behind him. But he still had nightmares about that day at the compound.

He ran under the handle Iceblade, never telling anyone his true name. Sure, he took some flak for such a cheesy name at first. But after using his blade and ice magic to kill a troll in front of his crew, those comments stopped, for the most part.

Since then, he's made a name for himself as a reliable runner, who usually gets things done. His lot in life has improved a bit, and he's found he likes running the shadows a lot more than he enjoyed the Corp lifestyle.
