Torrent: Troll Technomancer

So I want to create a Technomancer. I also want to create a troll. I thought combining the two would be a interesting character. I have an idea of the backstory, but I want to make sure it meshes with the world properly.

Torrent will be his alias, but as it's still a rough draft I'll use the name for his entire story.

Torrent was born of Human parents who are mid/high level wage slaves for some megacorp (possibly living in an arcology) He was a scrawny kid, and was the easy mark of bullies. The crash 2.0 happened when he was 7, and with it came new powers. His mother helped cover up his powers until he could control them better. They kept his status as a technomancer secret, but torrent used his powers to get even with his tormentors. When torrent hit puberty he was also hit with goblinization. Torrent became a troll. He was now the toughest kid around. The unlikely event caused problems in torrents family, as many close friends were active members of the Humanis Policlub. His parents feared for the life of their son, and arranged for him to be extracted to Seattle. This was Torrents first exposure to the Shadows. Torrent's busy childhood gave him an elevated sense of self worth, and when faced with harsh reality. Many people hate trolls, and he was a runt amongst trolls. His time in Seattle made him more cautious, but also more resourceful. He began living a double life. People think Trolls aren't smart. He got paid good money to pull hacks in odd places. Not many people suspect the troll "passed out" in the alley is the one breaking their firewalls. Torrent's life was good. But there are bills to pay and nobody wants to hire a troll for a deskjob.

So, what do you think?

I need to figure out which corp he came from, suggestions would be welcome. Also is their anything else I should cover?

Huh, this guy just screams Mitsuhama to me. Not sure why. Lovin' the concept. Let me know how you progress, I'm liking the idea, considering I'm building an Ork TM right now.

I would go with Renraku i think i read some where they had an AI problem on one of the archalogys or how ever you spell that. Could have helped him migrate to Seattle or helped him escape they could be friends lol, but sounds good so far...

This is where I show my ignorance of timelines/events.

Don't TMs not start showing their abilities until puberty? I could see him starting to pick up on hints previous to that, like noise/whispers in the background, or vivid "dreams" where he can fly. That sort of thing.

That being said, there are ALWAYS early developers. So I'm not trying to detract, I'm actually trying to learn from those who know that stuff better.

Also, I guess I never thought about goblinization still hitting people at puberty 30 years after the initial one. But I guess Trolls would be a good reason for it, as they would kill their mothers while still in the womb... not much chance of getting through that alive...

I didn't know that about technomancers, from what I read they have a wildly varied depending on when. I doubt that it was fully manifested as a child. As for gobliniztion, I read somewhere that it still happens. I know the odds of both are like getting hit by lighting while holding the winning powerball ticket on a blue moon, but hey isn't that the kind of luck that leads someone to the shadows

I know what you mean i got a gnome tm that i just got into a game. and he's fast becoming one of my faves he's not even physically dangerous. lol but plenty of potential though!
