Who said running the shadows was easy? Dodging bullets, swords, spirits, and spells just to name a few. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, even the occasional Dragon can make any Shadowrun go bad.

I won't tell you my real name, so you can call me Diego. If you want something longer, try Diego Frederico Jernandez. Pronounced as an 'H,' not a 'J.'

I started playing Shadowrun because it fitted my imagination better than Dungeons and Dragons and its local group was made of significantly less retarded people than the CthulhuTech game I tried to partake in. My first - and currently only - character is an Elf Street Samurai going by the name I want you to call me by. It's been two years since I started playing him, and in that time a lot has happened, specifically the group's disbanding. Just three months ago, after the end of our campaign, we decided to start anew with fresh characters at base BP, and even brought in a new player to join the ranks. Our GM thought it would be a good idea to make this a more cinematic-oriented campaign, and wanted to use Diego as a Super Runner. The session started off normal; mission from Johnson, go to building X, retrieve item Y, maybe complete optional objective Z. We were on our way to Z when we encountered Diego.

Now, I don't know why he wanted me to play Diego, but he let me NPC him. I am not a very social or likable person, and Diego reflected this; I play him as I act myself. The newbie to the party - playing a Troll Weapons Specialist - decided he was 'hot drek' and attacked Diego two minutes in to dialogue.

He died in the first Initiative Pass.

Two Initiative Passes later, and the party's Ork Street Samurai and Human Rigger were dead, too. The GM tried to step in, saying that a team of other Shadowrunners had come in before and laid the bottom floor with explosives (for reasons he refused to disclose to us, even afterward). Needless, the two remaining party members thought it best to trigger these explosives once they had left the building. The entire skyscraper started to come down. Diego burst out of the window and ran down the side of it as it collapsed.

I'll make the end short and just say that she died once Diego reached street level.

Hopefully nothing like that will happen here. I'll post Diego in your Characters section if you want me to, but I know for a fact you won't let me play him. Which is why I'm working on a different character.

Oh, and I lack social skills. I'm not good at interacting with other people. I started playing tabeltop RPGs to try and overcome this. It helps, but so far I haven't gotten any significant improvement. I guess I just don't like people.

...and the group hasn't gotten back together since, which is why I'm here.
