Who said running the shadows was easy? Dodging bullets, swords, spirits, and spells just to name a few. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, even the occasional Dragon can make any Shadowrun go bad.

KE and other security agencies don't officially condone the use of drugs, however a number have become prevalent in either every day life (Such as Long Haul) or in security and military circles the world round. After all, some of these drugs were specifically designed by law enforcement agencies (Such as Jazz) to offer as an alternative to those who couldn't afford cybernetics yet had to go up against crooks who often had all manner of augmentations. Of course while KE doesn't officially condone the use of any drugs, they will often turn a blind eye to the use of such drugs so long as it doesn't become a problem for the individual involved (IE Addiction) and in fact often sell these drugs at standard market rates to their combat units.

Allowable substances:
Cram
Jazz
Deepweed
Long Haul
Psyche
Betel
G3
Guts (Though frowned upon, if you need it your clearly a coward)
Oxygenated Fluorocarbons
Ripper (Bit of a crutch, but what ever)
Snuff
Trance

Since the subject of lifestyles has come up as one player wanted to utilize advanced lifestyles, here is what is included with the basic KE lifestyle available:

KE Lifestyle - Low (Cost after modifiers = 2000/mo)
Comforts - Low:
Cheap, mass produced furniture. Doesn't look all that special and its the sort of thing everyone has in their room but it does the job. You also have a cleaning drone. Sometimes they break down but it's corp property so they are responsible for fixing and maintaining them, too bad they take weeks to get around to it when it happens.

Entertainment - Middle
You get a number of basic channels all included with your room. Of course their chock full of corporate sponsored advertisement and you cant get anything that isn't an Ares Megacorp owned channel but.. .at least it's free, and thus leaves you with a little more money to spend on other things to entertain yourself.

The Necessities - Middle
You have an assigned parking spot in underground parking, you can afford some pretty decent soyfoods and hell, maybe even some real food now and then. You can afford some decent clothes, now and then you might even be able to 'splurge' and get some trendy clothes at a used clothing boutique down the way.

Neighbourhood - Middle
Everyone around you lives in identical small apartments, though the area is relatively crime free since it's Knight Errant property and it would look bad if there was a lot of crime. When bulbs burn out or something breaks they get fixed eventually, but it often takes the corp a while to actually get around to it. At least the power and water are reliable, there's good WI-FI access, regular security patrols and a number of corporate owned restaurants, pubs and other such establishments in easy walking distance.

Security - Middle
You've got actually half decent security. Good locks, many of the neighbours are fellow KE security agents and your on KE's home turf.

Modifiers:
Quiet Neighbourhood: It's a corp enclave basically, not much happens here and any 'gangs' are just a bunch of bored kids.
Corporate Owned: Big brother is watching you, though probably not while your in the shower... you think.
Living by Committee: You don't necessarily have to attend every meeting, but you'd best follow the rules or you'll hear no end of it from the neighbours.

Armour rules:

Body Armour suits issued to you by the corp can be assumed to be 'form fitted' following the same rules as Military Grade armour. That is to say, you utilize Body X3 to calculate the encumbrance of the full suit. A modification of this rule is that the helmet that is part of the suit will also fall under the Body X3 rather than outside of it as is normally the case.

Due to the fact that sometimes certain body values make it more difficult to suit encumbrance rules, players may op to buy their own personalized helmet using either starting funds, or have the cost deducted from their paychecks. This method offers three types of helmet options:

Standard: 2/2 (MK1 Helmet)
Ballistic: 2/1 (MK2 Helmet)
Impact: 1/2 (MK3 Helmet)
Light: 0/2 (MK4 Helmet)

The cost for these helmets will be in line with the cost of the helmet for the suit it is designed for (So if your using KE issued SWAT/Full Suit armour it's the same cost as the helmet for that suit would normally be, an includes all the basic features of said helmet). From an IC standpoint the three variants are just version that offer things such as 'improved comfort' (MK3 Helmet) or 'greater field of vision' (MK2 Helmet) or other things that have no actual impact on game mechanics outside of the fluff.

Dice rules for Invisible Castle:

The dice roller can be found here:
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/

Rolls MUST indicate the source of all dice. IE Attribute, Penalties, Bonuses, Skill, Edge etc. It also must indicate what the dice roll is specifically for. It

The roll must also indicate what character it is for and if your using the roller account for multiple games, which game the roll is for (I for example play on here in several games).

From now on if folk don't do this in order to keep the game going I may simply just ignore the results of your roll and treat it as a failure.

The whole point to using invisible castle is the unfortunate need to keep people honest. The average person isn't cheating on their rolls but we've had a few issues in the past with the occasional player fudging their rolls. It's not impossible to hide such behaviour using IC but as the rolls for a given account are linked and can be backtracked it's harder to do so. This isn't an issue restricted to this site either, all the other game sites I've been using have started using IC or some other similar service for the same reason.
