I've never played a technomancer, any suggestions?

Hmmm...

I really enjoy the whole matrix constantly in your face aspect of the mancers.

It seems to me that they've always got this slight sense of what's going on around them (matrix-wise) even without being in VR or without trying.

Technomancer riggers seem quite amazing from some of the number crunching I've been doing

Technomancers with the right setup can actually be fairly good at hacking and rigging at the same time. And that's not even including the fact that you can have sprites with you. Especially machine sprites.

From what I've looked at, machine sprite are wonderful for riggers. Think a drone pilot-soft that can fight back and think for itself!

Like Mirkon said, with a moderate computer skill and spending no BP on Complex Forms, you can be a functional hacker in a pinch. The only drawback is the risk of fading.

From what I've read on them, imagine someone whose mind naturally wants to drift between the real world and the matrix. Some technomancers even have a hard time telling where one world ends and the other begins (until they are cut off from the matrix). Techno-riggers seem to be more likely to treat their drones and vehicles as their own bodies (or at least extensions thereof).

Neo must have been a technomancer!

So treat him like a kind of person who relies on the matrix as a kind of inner strength, and don't think of the drones as ordering another thing to do a job but as natural as reaching out with my own hand.

Or you could think about your drones like being living beings, like a loved pet. Also, remember that sprites, like spirits, don't necessarily LIKE being around. It might, and most likely does, hate you deeply.

Actually, Talwyn, I usually go the other way. Three ranks in Cracking and Electronics groups, with four in the Tasking group can go a long way, especially if you buy the complex forms to do decent hack-work. Makes you a pretty darn good hacker, and a rank in Pilot specced to Remote Control combined with some software on the drones makes you a decent rigger in your own right. You won't be as badass as a specialized rigger, but you'll be more versatile, which can often times be more useful to a running group.

And yeah, it all depends on how you act with your sprites. They are sentient creatures, afterall. Yeah, you got them under your control for the moment, but if you don't treat them right, they'll SERIOUSLY resent it. Some sprites will be plain ornery, period. Others will be more helpful. Depends on the sprite, and how you interact with them.

i always had the idea of a rigger/mancer in a dark dojo doing a form of drone kata.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay. One of the guys at work had a death in the family, so it's been ultra busy and that's when I do most of my work for the run.
He's back this week, so let's get into it!

Ok, I've taken a cursory glance at the characters, but I still need to print them out and look closer and read backgrounds, etc.

I'll do that tomorrow, but for now the first post of the game is going up, so let the posting begin!
