Using SR 4th Ed. System to create a Fallout game.

So, I was going to put together a standard SR game though for a long while now I've been wanting to adapt the SR system to play a Fallout based game set in Seattle or rather whats left of it.

How or rather where would I go about doing this on these forums? Could I even do this on these forums?

You absolutely can do that on this forum! That would be a 'Shadowrun conversion' and there is, in fact, already a section for that! I'd be more than happy to create a Fallout section for you, or otherwise I could just give you a Game Room and you could post your own house rules in there. Feel free to work on a post explaining differences or character creation or whatnot.

And I would so totally like to join. :3

I'll likely work on it in the morning. But yeah, I have been wanting to do that for some time now. Gear is going to be a big thing, probably enough that I might end up free equipping characters to start with till I can build a decent list of gear. I'm envisioning something like the PC's being either prospectors heading north to get away from the ruckus in the Core Region or Vault Dwellers just emerging into the ruins of Seattle to find it a nuclear winter.

One thing that will make the game a lot more interesting is the shadowrun system handling radiation is much more realistic.

Well, for the most part, the equipment can stay the same... just needs some name changes. Switch the drugs to their Fallout names, guns can be changed to if need be... but really I don't even think that necessary.

The toughest part actually will be the high-tech stuff, like what to do about cyber- and bioware, not to mention changing commlinks to Pip-boys, if you'd like to go that route.

I'm gonna get to work on settin this up. So I'll be making some topics and when you can move them to either a game room or conversion forum let me know. And as far as the rules & gear and such goes I already have a solid idea as to how I intend to work it.
