@Starcraft: Alexia just got "lifted" out of the boat. Since you're dual natured and magically active, you see the spirit battle that you were just carried through, as well as the spell which lifts you. You are free to go ahead and post another "Narrative" in the game thread about what Alexia sees/feels while this all is happening.

A Spirit of Man can be summoned with the Heal spell.

In addition: Free Spirits may have the Regeneration power, which could be granted in one of two ways: 1. A Spirit Pact would allow the Free Spirit to grant Regeneration. 2. The Endowment Spirit Power, which a Free Spirit might have would allow the spirit to grant Regeneration.
Finally: I believe it is possible for a Familiar to be summoned with both Regeneration and Endowment. And that would allow Regeneration to be granted to an individual as well.

Unfortunately for the group, only the first option is theoretically immediately available.

Viking can easilly see Ashe's legs sticking out of the glowing Orb (about from the knee down), but nothing beyond that. She was sitting up the last time he had glanced in her direction, but it is impossible to tell now, as the Orb encompasses both the tree that she was leaning against, and the entire space that her torso would have been in. The bright light from the orb is far too bright to pierce.
There is too much noise for Viking to be able to hear a heartbeat, as the shooting had restarted. That said, as Viking gets closer, he can tell that the Orb is humming audibly.

p.s. is the second simple action held or used by audio?
Assensing would hive Viking away that She is hurt right even if I see only legs?

It's impossible to know if Assensing would work until you try it! In general, though, you are correct: Assensing should work fine.

The second Simple Action is not used up by the Audio; you may roll them together or seperately for the same Observe action. You chose to roll them seperately, which is fine.
Assensing would require switching your perception. That will use the Simple Action you have remaining, and the Assensing Test would have to wait until your next IP.


@Kesslan: Correct, you do not need to roll a Damage Soak, as you dodged successfully.

Yes, thank you for the reminder. Manaball will hit the Spirits as well. They will roll Reaction (Force) against Specter's 1 success. If you fail/CG, you'll also have to roll Counterspelling (Force) + Willpower (Force) against the modified damage.
As a note: Most people don't realize that the "Physical" attributes listed for a Spirit are applicable for the physical plane only; on the Astral, spirits use Force for all attributes. So, while they are on the Astral fighting, they will roll Force for Reaction, not the Physical Plane modified version.

The physical refers to the kind of damage. It doesn't do stun damage but physical. But only on living beings. I'm not sure about the spirits though.


And I completely forgot the spirits are at the boat too. Sorry folks.

No I was referring to the physical attributes listed under the Spirit descriptions for each. While they are manifested, they get different attributes for Body, Strength, Reaction, and Agility; denoted as Force+/-#. I was pointing out that those are actually only intended for when they are manifested, i.e. in the physical plane. But that when they are in Astral, they have Force Attributes for each, not the modified ones that are shown under their description.

As for the damage of the spell: it effects both the Physical and Astral planes. However, in reviewing the spell, I've realized that it's a direct spell, and there is no "Dodge". It's just resistance, which would be Willpower+Counterspelling (forcex2).

No, not 10. And it depends on what you're calling "threshhold". The resistance against it is Force+Net Hits; so that would be 5+1=6. Counterspelling is an opposed roll, but it requires an action - so no one is counterspelling; so Counterspelling would be a threshhold of 1 (your hits). The Skill of Counterspelling, however, is added as a sort of Armor bonus in Resistance tests, if the person has Counterspelling, against spells. So, as mentioned above, the Resistance is against Force+Hits (6) and uses their Willpower+Counterspelling dice. 6 is a high number, so to reliably roll 6 hits, someone would have to be rolling 18 dice, more or less, which would be akin to a Force 9 spirit; or a Magician with a powerful Counterspelling Focus.

Does that clear things up?

When I started this run, and my own, I was unemployed. With lots of time at my hands. Now I have a job, at last enough money to get by, but not much time anymore. It shows in my research and posts unfortunately. But to be honest, I don't really want to go back to where I was. I will read through the rulebooks again though.

That would mean that Valkyrie would avoid any damage. However: I am ruling (on the spot, and a house rule) that any time that you would like a Spirit to use edge, you must do one of the following: either it will cost you a Service, or you must come up with a VERY GOOD RP reason for the use of Edge.
