The Music of Shadowrun

This is, quite simply a question about what music do you think the world of Shadowrun has. Could it be Dub-step? Could the Thermin (the only instrument that can be played without touching it) be popular?

Or is it all Tesla Coils, all the time?

Drum, String and wind instruments have been around for thousands of years. They have been modified to make more/crazier sounds, but the basic concepts are still there. Purely electric music has been around since the first processor was able to deal with the math necessary to send signals to speakers... so... While the sound might be different, there may be more or less synthesis, and the look of the instruments may change (# of strings, holes, hands needed to play?) The basics will always be there.

I usually think of gothic industrial as being the music of cyberpunk. make a pandora station with 'Velvet Acid Christ' and 'Snog' to see what i mean.

I also think of black metal as troll metal.

Of course all the rock, punk, classical blues and jazz would still be around in various ways.

Maybe something along the lines of metal-step? Listen to some of the songs off the new Korn CD for and idea.

I would like to hear re-done versions of the genesis songs, though. Those were good songs for the game.

i kinda like the imagery of Tesla Coil music, constant hum and snap in the background and one step wrong with the band and ZAP!!
