OOC: This will be a 3rd edition campaign set in 2064 in and around Seattle.

Runners should be created using the standard 3rd ed rules.
Anyone wanting to start with cyberware Beta grade or better, or equipment with an availability of 8 or higher should PM me first - there will most likely be strings attached.
If you want to use anything that isn't in the rule books or supplements, run it past me and I'll see what can be done

Character creation as per SR3 core rules (A-E system) or as in Shadow Companion Rules (point based?) and if point based, how many points?

I've never created characters using the Shadowrun Companion points based rules, but if you want to use them then I believe a 100 point character should be roughly analogous. Just apply rule 7* and it should be fine.
Is there an official translation of the points buy system for 3rd ed? If not make a troll or elf 15 points.

Edges and flaws can be taken at double points total - ie. a 6 point flaw would give you 12 more points, a 2 point advantage would cost you 4 points.

Edges and flaws can be used by characters created using the standard 3e rules tooso long as their points totals balance out.

If any of this seems obviously game breaking, please say.

Edges and Flaws
Edges and Flaws can be taken by using or giving build points, while it is suggested they balance one another, it is not required using point the point system.

Standard Character creation is 123 build points (not sure why they chose that number to be honest)

Zion is a twenty eight year old sorcerer who grew up among the ever burgeoning Seattle underclass. An orphan and street kid from an early age, only his innate sorcery kept him alive in his formative years. Used and occasionally protected by various criminal organisations, he managed to avoid committing himself to any one in particular, and has evolved into a “free agent” spellslinger. Zion’s been on the wrong side of the law more times than he can count, and has a strong dislike for Lone Star, Knight Errant, and the mega’s in general. He is brave, stubborn, and more than a little jaded, but lives in hope that metahumanity will prove his expectations wrong. Curiously, he has a soft spot for the elderly, and enjoys anything to do with urban or combat biking (a favourite past-time of his).
