I want a Runner who's skate board is his weapon mode of transportation and im having trouble coming up with a way to speed up my board, come to think of it i don't have a board iv roughed out the character 17 year old street kid wizzer gang member but i need a spell to make the skate board go fast and i need a speed/movement rate for a skate board any help would be appreciated...

Note the board will probably be a focus of some sort and have melee hardening or something cool like that thanks in advance for all the help everyone... Very Happy

A skateboard would basically double your movement rates, assuming your character is on a relatively flat surface (normal movement rate uphill, as much as quadruple normal movement downhill if the hill is steep and you have enough hill). Also, even though decks aren't made to smash in people's brains, they are pretty resilent. You could probably get a few good whacks upside someone's dome before you structurally damage the board. However, since the decks of the 2070's are probably created with some sort high density plastics it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to weaponize one. And the pop on those things must be insane :] hmm, maybe a specialization of clubs and gymnastics to represent his rather unique transportation/combat skills. Although I'm not knowledgeable on spell creation, it shouldn't be too hard to stat out an Enhance Movement spell. Maybe check out the Running/Sprinting rules and go from there?

Let's take a look at all three options, shall we? If you go The Physical Adapt route you could do away with trying to create the Enhanced Movement spell altogether and replace them with Improved Ability (Clubs and Gymnastics), Attribute Boost (Agility), and Great Leap. If you want to do a Mystic Adept you could keep some or all of the above Adept Powers and throw in whatever spells you'd think appropriate, such as Clairvoyance (it's good to know you have a safe landing after you "blindly" ride off a bridge for an aerial trick to impress the ladies), Stealth (who wants their wheels and bearings to make a bunch of noise when they're trying to evade the Man?), and Physical Barrier (a must have for creating kick boxes and ramps). And then finally the straight Magician route, which would be just like the Mystic but replacing the Adapt Powers with their spell equivalent. On a related note, I've been tooling around with a motorcycle riding sprawler, was thinking of making a gang of street kids as a group contact... If we both get our characters statted out, mayhaps our characters could be part of the same crew? Just throwing that out there :]

@Ex sorry bout that delayed response, i have some commitment reading, and maybe posting to do. Family stopped by and i could not do a chummer on this subject i will and some book reading... Sorry again, ill get to it later promise. ummm I know a gm admin. onsite that might be into the idea... She ran one before, it was great! Work out your "Kinada" Shocked Cool Suspect (I meant to tell you, I thought of that but I don't possess the shadow run knowledge to make Kinada and i did not even think rigger good idea, I'm no rigger got a dronemancer though... Very Happy Names Digit! So if you can stomach making your Akira biker a technomancer/Dronemancer I can help not sure about rigging again... But yes if we can convince her we will do our part We "might" be able to ask Gala to do the Ganger game again check out the old "We Be Gangers" thread for her story, I played "Body" he's still in my roster now... Umm? gotta go two games going i need to read up on... Ill hit this thread back later k

Looks pretty solid thus far. The Exotic Melee (skateboard) is an excellent choice, by the way. I'm not sure if a skateboard falls under Pilot Groundcraft, but it might (better to check with a experienced GM). Pilot Exotic maybe instead? Climbing and Running might suit your man as well (climbing up something to drop in and running when the terrain isn't suitable for riding). Keep me posted man :]
