Thank you, I did. Dropped some serious cred on having a kilt made in my family tartan. It'll be worth it though. These folks make beautiful kilts.

@Scawire: after checking my notes, the pavilion is only 5 meters tall. That mean's your jammer will be able to cover a 1^3 meter circle. That's about enough to protect a single individual inside, if you get lucky enough to get it centered on him.

I still can't seem to get a log in on that site I will keep adding my character name to the rolls so you can search for his name, it seems to be the only one on that site named that.

Let me know if I find a good vantage for my jammer.

Oh ya we should work in teams of 2 or 3 and maybe have 1 patrolling and one in line of site to each other waiting to strike. Just an idea post any of your ideas.

@Scawire

As this is my first game where I'm actually paying attention to Magic rules (specifically summoning as I've never done much with it) You'll have to forgive me if I misinterpret any rules.

Pg 177 SR4A: Says that you have to state the Force of the Spirit and then make an opposed roll Summoning + Magic vs Spirits Force and the number of Net Hits determines the number of services owed, regardless of the amount of time left before sunrise/set.

I'm assuming you are summoning F1 spirits unless you want physical drain as he only has a single point of Magic for Sorcery/Summoning.

Pg 188 SR4A also says you can only summon a single unbound spirit at a time. Which would mean that Teckster can only summon one, not two.


Maybe this doesn't apply to Watcher spirits? But as I'm having difficulty finding the actual rules on Watch spirits, I don't know. Both SM and SR4A claim that Watcher spirits are on SM 95. I must be as blind as a mole though, because I can't find any stat info on a watcher spirit on that page.

Summoning watchers is a bit different from other spirits. Watchers are always force 1. The successes determine how long the watcher will be around.

Also you can have (magic) watchers summoned at a time.

Ya there is special rules for summoning watchers you can have as may equal to your charisma rating and they do not count towards your spirit limit.
Rules are found in the 20th anniversary on page 189.

When it comes to over cast it would be my rating 1 + my power focus 4 meaning force 5 or lower is not over cast.

@group
Someone with tactics/leadership and a good perception roll should take charge and give us our locations to set and watch from.
I suggest a triangle with line of sight to each other if possible and a 2 man patrol.

Great, looks good.

I notice that the Watcher rules do not over rule the -2 Sustaining modifier (unless that is somewhere else?) If that is the case, then I will rule that the Sustaining modifier still applies. This doesn't change any of the outcomes of your rolls as you chose not to accept the third hour of service any way.

I have a sustaining focus so my increased reflexes are being sustained by that so I have no -2 modifier, and it doesn't count as a modifier to sustaining to have spirits only if you are sustaining spells. So no modifier for 8 spirits only if you have 8 spells.

Wreck. Is their a clear line of sight from the top of my van? Just an idea but as there is not much time to run off and climb something unseen... if there is good line of sight on the target pavilion then Cat could stand up through the sun roof. All that would be needed is some magic to hide her with. I also note that none of the cameras are set to watch the street.

catalina has a 7 pool in gymnastics i think Wreck is right she has a lot of natural ability with a slight boost maybe an edge roll she could probably make it im looking at high jump statistics so far highest i found was 2.something meters i think he said its like 10 or 5 meters high so ill back check that too i still say i gotta get up there i wanna see what darkon says about getting up there before i post Darkon is pretty creative so id like to that input first maybe he's got a spell or a spirit idk

There is a clear line of sight from the van to the SE corner of the pavilion, but the van is only about a meter high, and the pavilion is 5 meters high. So she would only be able to see one side of the pavilion. She would also have limited sight for most of what she can see that was under 1/2 a meter as the shrubs and planters would get in the way. Her View is also pretty narrow from the van because of the trees. She has a clear view of the awning of the roof though.

Cat's max vertical distance is agility/3 rounded up (4/3=1m) So she would need at least a four meter boost to get to the roof. Assuming you figure out a way to get her up four meters, then the vertical distance jump threshold is 2 (1m X 2). She would need at least 1 hit to make it.

I'd be willing to let her try and jump vertically 1 meter + her body length (1.79m) to grasp the edge of the roof awning. But that means she still needs at least a 2.21 meter boost to get her with in range.
