I've been watching boards lately, and things haven't been what they could. I've watched a lot of new players come on-board, stick around for a few weeks, then leave when they couldn't find a way to get in on anything. I've watched several old-hands leave for the same reason.
We're a gaming site, but we've only got 2 active runs going on. Given that, I'm wanting to find out if there's interest enough out there to warrant me putting together a new run.
I've had an idea for one for some time, but haven't started it up because I did not want to pull any of my energy away from Butterfly Kisses. After talking this over with Phantom, I've decided that it's worth trying to GM two games.
So... the meat of the subject. The run I'm thinking of putting together is different from what we've done before. Like BK, it will be more of a campaign than a run, though unlike BK, I intend the campaign to be made up by smaller runs brought together under (a) broad objective(s).
The run will have a Wuxia theme. Essentially, that means that it will be a lot like a Kung Fu movie, like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, or the Forbidden Kingdom. It will have a definite emphasis on martial arts, and I will be introducing custom rules so that the game mechanics for unarmed combat will be a great deal more involved. If there is sufficient interest to get the run going, I will post these rules when I post the want ad.
The run will occur initially in Hong Kong, but will have the potential to range all across China, Japan, Korea, SE Asia, and even into Australia and/or California.
Does this sound like something anyone would want to be a part of? Please post and tell me, yea or nay.
