Archiving the site

Over the next couple weeks I will be archiving the site and moving basically everything into an archive area. I need to know what players and GM's want to keep easily accessible or give things a new location while we archive and update the site.


I will be creating an introduction room for us to post our new introductions.

I will also be creating a better die roller, (I hope). At least a cleaner looking one.

It is a long task that we are starting with this reboot, but I believe it will be worth it in the end.

I'm not sure if we should reset our members lists and boot everyone that is not currently visiting or if we should leave the list alone and start pruning people at a later time. What do you all think?

I say everyone gets a mass mail saying were back and working to make it better invite them back give it a minute and then start taking things out but let them know were gonna be pruning anyone not using the and lastly see who keeps there sign in and who does not or they can just click a link if they wish to be removed and a link if they wish to keep they spot sound good no maybe idk throwing ideas out Also i would consider updating the dice roller if at all possible just me though and im not sure what to change it too but we no longer have IC to work with off site and its killing me lol ill try and use the one here more i guess but yea

My considerations;

The member list: I have two ideas.
1. I think that we should leave the member list as is for the moment. Send out some mass e-mails to inform all the members of the updates and give them a month to respond by either posting on the site or by e-mail. If they do not respond then they get pruned out.
2. Create a different category or class (Former Players or Honorary or something) within the members list for members and place all the old ones into that category. Send out a mass e-mail to all members and again give them a month to respond. If they become active again they can be changed to from Former to Active.

As for archiving; Please don't archive Fixer Delight Reboot. The Characters can be archived. I have no problem with re-posting my characters up again and that shouldn't take long for me to do.

Are you planning on changing the character section or just archiving it?

right now I am looking at archiving almost everything. I don't want to remove anything as there is a history and a lot of back story on the site that can be useful for players and GM's alike. I would like to revamp the characters post and would prefer to have character sheets uploaded to the post site with links to character info area. This way all characters have the same info on them for the GM's to use.

I whole heartedly agree.
For 4th Edition I use Chummer to create characters. It can create traditional 4th Edition character sheets in html format. Would that fall in line with your character format?

I was thinking of PDF or DOC so it can be posted to the google site and linked to a post. Like the PDF Shadowrun 4th Ed Character Sheet.

There's plenty of free pdf converter software available so everyone should be able to post it without too much trouble.

I like the link to pdf for posting as well or will it be like a log thingy?

I notice we no longer have a forum or a link for new characters. What's the plan?

The plan for now is to add a character list where players can post a link to their character sheets that are stored on the google page. I have been busy with a new career change, so I will be spotty on the update times. I will be updating as I can.

I just happen to be free most nights, albeit i do some updating for a podcast network. Perk of a 3rd shift security guard.

I'm just starting the DPSST for 911 dispatcher. I'll be in the academy for months. Though November. I should be able to continue the updates once I get a schedule for things.
