Motoko nods her head. "My van is an up-armored Bulldog Step-van, equipped with a turret-mounted White Knight armed with explosive rounds. It has two drone racks, one containing ten Dragonfly drones configured for anti-vehicular work, and one containing a Steel Lynx combat drone, also equipped with a White Knight armed with explosive rounds. The stock tires have been replaced with off-road tires, and the sensor package has been improved to create real-time three dimensional maps of the local area, as well as incorporating smartlink software to aid those using the guns. The Lynx has the same sensor package. They're my babies, and while I can work without them, transporting Capek through enemy territory will likely be easier with it than without." The van isn't so much a van as an armored personnel carrier, complete with drone escort! It is little wonder why Motoko would like to take her baby with her in the field.

Hastiin twitches in his sat slightly, visibly uncomfortable. A small bead of sweat has formed on his forehead and begun to travel down his right cheek.

He turns his head in the direction of their Mr. Johnson and speaks up in slightly accented English, "That's a lot of NuYen. With a promise like that, what guarantee can you give us that we will actually be paid or that we're not simply walking into a death sentence? I mean no offense to you or your associates, it's just that you don't often see this amount of NuYen floating around in our line of work."

I'd never have to run again with that kind of money.... Let's hope it's all legit and they plan to actually pay us and not dispose of us. Let's also hope we're out of this hellhole of a city soon.

Taviro would lean forward in his seat, resting his arms on the table to appear deep in thought, in reality he wasn't, he was just trying to gauge the reactions of everyone in the room, from the twitchy indian, to the tekky that seemed all worried over his van. English: "I guess the only questions left that matter would be, When do we leave, and who in the name of Thor are all of us?"

I suppose this is all the info I'm going to get for now.

Toshiro nods and says, "I'm called Shadow. Hajimemashite" He gives a slight bow and then leans back, apparently done.

"You may call me Motoko Kusanagi, or the Major, if you like. I'll respond to either."

Looking over to Shadow, Motoko nods her head, and says, in fluent Japanese, "It is always nice to hear Japanese in this part of the world. Where are you from?"

Turning to the others, she says, "I am skilled at hacking enemy systems, and at controlling drones, letting them do the dirty work. But I've also got some friends I can call on through the Matrix, if there's something special we need done."

Shadow looks to Motoko and says, "I've picked up a little Japanese over the years... I was just trying to be polite. I suppose it is a little odd to use such formality outside of a corp. Sumimasen, Kusanagi-san."

Taviro would stand up after the meeting was over he stretched his muscles a bit before relaxing. He'd been killed, flown by a valkyrie, woken up in another plane of existence, then catapulted through time, had nearly 1500 years worth of knowledge crammed into his head, and been transformed into a pointy eared elf. Compared to that, a disappearing meeting room didn't really seam to phase him.

Before the rest of the group would leave, he figured he might as well introduce himself, although his voice cracked a little, still unfamiliar with this thrice damned accent,
Norsk: "So help me when i find those norns again."
English: "My name is Taviro Skova, my proffesion has always been one of death, but lately i've been branching out into more stealthy matters, as ye may have noticed from my brothers mysterious clothing, i'm not that bad at magic either, i even know a few people if we happen to need anything."

Checking the commlink to make sure he had plenty of time, he decided that he should head back to his aprtment and get his pack together, if they were going into the middle of the jungle, he was probably going to need a few supplies. He decided to pack his extra ammo clips, and make sure his favorite gun was in his slide, he had a feeling Vale was going to save him a few times. after finishing packing and throwing everything into a back pack, his commlink, the earpiece, etc. he would take off for the airport to meet with the team.

Hastiin removes the glasses as quickly as humanly possible and tosses them back into the suitcase, glad to be rid of them.

He turns toward the group to introduce himself. With a slight Sioux accent, Hastiin begins "You can call me Hastiin. Now the mission has been explained, I understand why I've been asked to come along. I am from a nomadic tribe descended from the Sioux, and my role in the tribe was to guide through the wilderness."

Hmmm... usually missions have an up front payment.

"I unfortunately lost the last bit of rope I owned on the last mission I was on. I recommend getting some and possibly even some climbing gear... something tells me that we may need it."

Hastiin, after everyone has introduced themselves, heads back to his cabin to grab his supplies.

Jötunn took the glasses off and put them in the case.

"Heh, must'a scared him off. Name's Jötunn Skova, I do wet work."

He looks to his brother,"Why do you moan about those old hags? This is better than death is it not? Let's live our lives, and we'll worry about them IF we meet them again. I, for one, hope that is a long time in coming."

Putting the glasses back in the case, Motoko chuckles. Yeah, that was a neat trick. Probably some kind of holoprojection. It only reinforced her notion that this job was going down for a AAA corp. No one else had the funds to blow on such an elaborate setup for an initial meet. She'd need to do some checking to try and get more info on who they were working for, but that could wait until they got the briefing info at the airfield.

Looking to Shadow, Motoko shakes her head. "I can understand that. When I was in Neo-Tokyo, my father made me learn Japanese, so I wouldn't embarrass him at business meetings."

Consulting to herself for a moment, she comes to a decision. "I think I'm going to buy some extra ammo. My stores are fine for a simple run through the city, but if we're going to be in the jungle, I don't want to run out half-way through."

Shadow takes off the glasses, and frowns. Nothing was what it seemed here... and what did that bode for their mission? He puts the glasses back in their case, and turns to Motoko as she speaks to him.

"It is a useful language to know, in this day and age." He bows to her, and leans back against the wall. Watching the others, he waits until they've all left, then makes his way out. In the club, he notices the absence of many of the other patrons, the ones he had pegged as security. Were they illusions too, or had they left before the meeting ended? Either way, it would seem that they had been there simply to discourage the team from getting out of hand. It seems to have worked. Neither he nor anyone else had so much as mentioned the lack of up-front payment. He shook his head. No, this situation just didn't feel right. And here he was, just barreling into a run that had a more question marks attached to it than he was at all comfortable with.

Walking back to his bike across the block, Shadow begins thinking of what he would need for this run. Of course, he was broke at the moment, having spent all his money to get to Seattle and find a decent safe-house to kip down at, so buying new gear wasn't really an option. He did however has a decent stash of survival gear which he had collected in case he had to skip out of town unexpectedly.

"It will have to do. Still, there is something I can do to prepare.

He revs the motor and heads back to abandoned tenement building where the Hawks street gang had set up shop. He had reached a deal with the gang to let him use an empty room while he was in Seattle, and to keep quiet about it. It had cost him a lot, but he felt it was worth it. And his friendship with Broken Spear had been a great bonus. The old man was former Sioux military, and he and Shadow had gotten along well together, unusual amongst the xenophobic Sioux who made up the gang. They had spent a lot of time talking, mostly about Broken Spear's days in the military, and Shadow had picked up a bit of useful information from the old man. So Shadow decided to go back and let the Hawks know that he would be gone for awhile, and to see if the old man could give him any extra pointers on how to survive out in the wilderness.

As she made her way back to the van, Motoko put in a call to one of her oldest friends. "Konichiwa, Isao-kun. I trust you're well?" She grinned at her friend's response. "I just called to say that I might miss our dinner date Friday. Got a big money run out of country. I just need to pick up some extra supplies. Transmitting the list now."

Sending her friend the list of supplies she needed, Motoko got in the van, and fired it up. "Yes, Isao-kun. I think it's gonna be rough. Don't worry, I'm taking my babies with me. And I'll be sure to keep behind the others when the shooting starts. Thanks, Isao. Money's on its way. Will I see you when I pick up the goods? Thirty minutes? You know, that would give me a good forty-five minutes free before I have to head to the airstrip..." With a giggle, Motoko disconnected the link.

One hour and fifty minutes after 'Roger Smith' dismissed them, Motoko was at the field, supplies in the back of her van, and feeling very satisfied.

Hastiin jumps on his bike and tears off toward his Cabin. Grabbing his already packed bag, he heads back out to his bike and heads toward the nearest place to buy himself some rope.

After snagging a bit of normal climbing rope, he heads toward the air field.

Passing through the gates, Hastiin slows his bike to a crawl and simply stares at the planes in awe. He'd only ever seen planes as they flew overhead and had certainly never been this close to one before.

How in the spirits names does that thing stay in the air?

Growing increasingly worried, Hastiin heads towards the others and dismounts from his bike.

"Sorry it took me a bit longer to gather my supplies than I expected."

Looking toward the plane again, Hastiin let's out a small curse (Sioux) "drek..."

Jötunn stopped by his place long enough to grab his shotgun and axe before heading to the airfield. He enjoyed the ride through the woods, taking in the clean smells. His bike didn't like the rough road so much, but he was used to far worse. He was more worried about picking it up after this was all done. He hadn't had it for very long, but he'd grown attached to it.

When he arrived he found his brother and walked up to him. Looking at the plane he remarked, "I thought it would be... bigger."

Taviro sighed as he grabbed the last piece of equipment he would need on this journey, it was a simple necklace with a circular stone looped through it. It was given to him by his mother when he was young. This necklace, his brother, and his memories were all that he had left of the past. He slipped the necklace on over his head and went downstairs, doing a mental checklist of everything in his backpack, all his ammo, the gun in the holster in the small of his back, and his chestplate that he wore underneath his clothing. He even made sure to put on the Sunglasses with the smartlink adaption as he hopped onto his Bike and took off for the airport.

Arriving about ten minutes early got him through the gate fairly quickly, albeit the dirt rode was rather painful. Taviro parked his motorcycle off to the side as he walked his way over to the hanger, looking up to the plane with a bit of awe of how far technology had progressed in only a few hundred years.

When his brother came up behind him, taviro would barely react, not that the sheer size of his brother would give anything away, but the sound of his voice was still as familiar as ever, even through his new thickened sound. Norsk: "It could be worse brother, if it was smaller we would have to strap you to the bottom."

Resting his hand once again on his brothers shoulder, feigning a comforting smile, the eternal sign of mischief.

With his feet firmly back on the ground, Jötunn tries to tackle Taviro.

Running over the file that got beamed into her brain, Motoko grimaced. This Capek was going to be bad news. They would have to put him out, and keep him out until they made the handoff, and got their pay. She hated trying to grab mages and keep them from blasting her, or her babies.

Looking over to the others, Motoko shook her head. "Control yourselves, will you? If you two keep doing that stuff when we get where we're going, you'll get us all killed. My only consolation is that they'll likely shoot you before they get me."
