Quick question, I'm trying to find some thing to jack into at the warehouse. do I just need to make a perception check?

Actually, it would be a matrix perception test. which is computer + analyze instead of intuition + perception.

Gala you said they have complex actions, which can be split into 2 simple actions, and they can move again albeit sacrificing a simple action, right?

Yes, that is correct. They no longer have a "Free" move action, but they may sacrifice their simple actions (which would split up the complex action, making it no longer possible) in to more move actions (or some combination of a move action and another simple action).

what does the warehouse floor plan look like?

A very large "L". The loading docks are all on the bottom of the "L", and you guys, where you just came in, are at nearly the perfect vantage point to be able to see the entirety of the warehouse. Duke can only see the short leg, as he came in the door at the end of it.

Come on guys, seriously? You can't write a text during combat... Think about it. You going to pull out your little keypad, and hack the keys until the message is correct, dodging bullets all the while? Yeah... no. I'm not sure what the book says about texting during combat, but I am ruling, right now, that texting is a complex action, and that it will cost a full round to get out 10 words.

KJ and Ghost, you two can modify your posts if you like. But in the future, let's try and be somewhat considerate of reality, huh?

Ok, but when you make your edit, try to keep your "call" short, ok? The book allows for up to 6 words per initiative pass. No more.

oK i checked and i did say voice mail but i cut off the last two words to make ten k hope that's good. i don't know about KJ but i did think about what you might say when i posted and i did write voice mail there the first time because i figured you might say the above. so i should be good

Ghost: Using Gymnastics is fine. The target is 2, so your 3 hits are enough. Go ahead and clean up your post. In order to catch the guy, or do whatever you want to, you'll have to succeed in two things according to your description/limitations.
At 10 feet away, you're too far for a "five foot step" to get to him and do an unarmed attack. To pull it off, you'll have to combine it with a few other things.

Do a Jump test, threshhold 2, to get to him in your move action.
Do another Gymnastics test, threshhold 2, to have control of your body in the air, and land on him with control.
Do an unarmed combat test.

If you succeed in the Jump test, then you made it far enough.
If you then succeed in the second Gymnastics test, (the first one is to not get shot) then you can assume that your body/momentum aid your attack, and that your facing the right way, etc.
Then you can attack. Make sure to describe your attack too. The description will determine both the difficulty of your action, and the form your success takes.

Go ahead and edit your post to reflect the above updates.

i'll get back to trying to post daily. I just walked into my restaurant with my family and friends, and regular customers glaring at me all with a signed petition that i should sleep at least once a day. Funny, huh?
