Parliament of Thieves OOC

This is where the OOC portion of the Parliament of Thieves game will take place. Feel free to ask me questions here as the game progresses.

In this game we have:

Mirikon (Sword Mage)
Woo Long (Adept Gunslinger)
Blake (Old School Security Guy)
Hoshi (Tough Guy)

and possibly one more (waiting on a character sheet)

If you guys could post in a quick update on how you're getting the to meet, what equipment you're taking, etc. then we can get this ball rolling.

Also, I've e-mailed everyone with issues about their sheets, so let's try to resolve these ASAP :-)

Sounds good. If it seems like I am posting at weird times, it's because I am in Scotland and so I am 5 hours ahead of EST.

Hey Blake,

Nah, I don't really have many Do's and Don'ts that I can think of off the top of my head.

The main thing would be to control your character and whenever possible try to avoid controlling NPCs. A good example of this is with Hasty's first post.

This is perfectly acceptable as it has no bearing on how the story plays out. However, if this were a combat situation or a reaction from Mr. J, then it would be kind of odd if I had to make him do something different. Does that make sense?

I'm having trouble imagining your character. Is she an elf? Does she actually have wings? I'm thrown off because I've never heard about a Pixie PC in Shadowrun before. How tall is she?

lets see she's hold on:
Pixies are small humanoids that resemble miniature elves
of various ethnicities, approximately 45 centimeters high on average
and with large, iridescent dragonfly wings emerging from
their backs (wingspans approx. 1 meter). Runners companion pg 65

i see her as looking like one of those anime school girls lol. With a well honed tan. And about 40 centimeters high elf looking purple hair bright green eyes. she can go from innocent to what ever in no time flat and she's a big tease as you can tell lol.

BTW guys I dont know a lot about the shadowrun universe and things like a magician's astral monitoring? Obviously everybody else knows what going on, so sorry if I dont get it at first, I see you guys post it then I gotta search through my book to find answers...

Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one! Don't sweat; you'll pick it up quick. You can role-play your character as not familiar with the magic and matrix aspects, and use it to have the other PCs explain what they're doing/looking for/etc.

So what I'm worried about is tripping alarms if we carry the package directly through a border checkpoint. I have an olfactory booster, which can pick up some smells. But a safer bet is to run it through a gas chromatograph, which could help us figure out what's in the package. Unfortunately, with only two hours to get the package to the destination, we can't get the package to a lab. So our only bet would be if one would have it handy (and I didn't think of buying a portable one when I built my character).

I'll tell you more about what I'm thinking once we get done with the Johnson...

Hey, guys,

Before I roll the resist to the Control Thoughts spell, I wanted to check a few things...

1) We might be inside a magical lodge. I checked the main manual, but it doesn't say anything about the impact of a lodge on spellcasting inside the lodge. stubb, can you let us know how that impacts both the spellcasting and the resistance if applicable?

2) Given that we're actually entering a combat situation (wow, that was quick!), how do you want to run combats, stubb? Should we try to schedule a time to get on IM/skype so we can do it efficiently, or do you want to do it by post? I can stay online and post for the next 1.5 hours or so if we want to play out a battle and try it.

3) I can't believe a "teammate" actually attacked me during a job meet? How novel - and how fun!

Hey man, the combat will be by post (which is slightly unfortunate, but is actually a bit faster than you'd think if everyone keeps up-to-date on the posts).


The room does not affect your spell casting at all, so resist away

For future reference, please use www.invisiblecastle.com to roll your dice. Sign up for an account and make sure to be as descriptive as possible when rolling your dice.

As far as that roll result, you've got a pretty nagging sensation saying that you may have been a bit too harsh to the pixie and possibly that you haven't given her a fair chance. Chances are, she's not as used to running as you are. In other words, you feel kinda bad and like you should apologize.

Because of the edge dice, you don't really feel the need to apologize.

Give me a minute - I'm scrambling around doing a crash course on perception success tests. (Trying to figure out if my character knows it was a spell and where it came from.)

You probably wouldn't unless you were awakened... it's pretty innate for pixies.
