Kesslan holsters his pistol before moving to start picking up and dragging both pilots. "No idea. I'll dump these two out the hatch while you get this thing off the ground. Wont be long before they start shooting at us." he says to Driver as he starts to drag the two unconscious pilots out of the cockpit. If they were dead he'd probably actually prefer to leave the bodies in the cargo hold for a little while but since they weren't dead... well. That just meant that they could wake up and cause trouble later.

Kesslan swears under his breath at just barely catching LT's yell over the sound of the incoming gunfire. "Driver, soon as I dump these two jokers out shut the door!" he'll yell to carry on the message before doing his best to quickly drag both unconscious pilots and dump them out the door in question. "Frag we gotta get out of here fast." he murmurs more to himself mentally considering what his options are to help cover the door as it closes once he's got the two pilots dumped out. He could use his shotgun but that isn't the most effective weapon at long ranges. Oh well, better than shooting with his handgun he supposed.

"I don't know how long I can keep this up! I have a headache already!" Ashe screams into her earpiece over the background rattling of Semi-Automatic weapons sending their fire in her direction. The strain of casting is clear on her face, and is perhaps already affecting her negatively. (OOC: Perception Threshhold 1 to hear her.)
Ashe turns her head toward LT, keeping her back flattened against the doorframe, and out of direct targeting. Her eyes are squinted, her forhead furrowed, and her mouth is pressed into a tight, thin line. Hopefully her heavilly strained look is from concentration, and stress; not from Drain...
For just a moment, there is a slight hesitation in her, but then the heavilly damped determination comes back across her face. Her eyebrows relax, her forehead with it. The mouth remains tight, but she turns her head back toward the soldiers. Their lines are thinning, but they are getting closer, and more dangerous. Ashe allows her eyes to come around the door again. She withdraws quickly as a round of bullets erupts from one of the soldiers guns. But, she immediately takes another look. This time she pushes her hands around the door frame and another streak of blinding light erupts from her hands as her eye peers around the door casing. An answering scream comes from one of the soldiers outside the door. The grim look of determination, and satisfaction, creeps across her face as she withdraws first her eyes, then her hands from the door frame. The crease of concentration, and strain, is back on her face. Perhaps worse, this time.
The answering spatter of bullets comes in through the door, and Ashe flattens herself against the wall again.

LT: With the opposition has somewhat organized itself, and in order to fire, you first have to succeed a threshhold 2 Dodge test against their suppression fire. Ashe clearly managed...

LT was taught that most ucas army guys go for center mass when they could get off a shot well that was the theory that in mind he went about side stepping trying to show less of his girth which for a troll was rather slender but still more then a target for the soldiers.

LT noticed Ashe getting what looked like drain effects he could not think of anything else that it could be she had to be on like her fifth spell since she got here or more and like her third or better lightening bolt sooner or later she was gonna reach her limit all mage types did. He figured she'd be more useful later if she was not spell fried. besides she had spit enough hell at them already! He bobbed sideways over to her, between him and the wall she was leaning against effectively covering over her. He said "Get to the pit with Driver make sure we get outta here he smiled i got this." Then he turned picked out a soldier took aim and let his revolver Bark out over the automatic gun fire once more!

Kesslan successfully drags the bodies of the unconscious pilots toward one of the foward doors in the hold, looking to dump the bodies out. He, wisely, drags both bodies over to the door before opening it to deposit them outside. When he reaches for the door, however, he notices a light bang of something metal hitting the door.
OOC: Kesslan, I need a listen test.

Ashe makes eye contact with LT, but for the first moment her eyes were unfocused. After a moment, whatever was keeping her thoughts back cleared up and she focused in on LT's eyes. At first she nodded, and started to turn to walk toward the front of the plane. Then she shook her head. Just as she was about to open her mouth to respond, there are 3 seperate metal clanks, as granades of some sort clatter in through the door. At the same time, the "Air Raid" siren started going off.
A calm female voice, melodic and tonal, spoke into each of your commlinks. "I have disabled all of the external sound microphones in your Commlinks. The Air Raid is going to be far too loud to be able to speak over. You are all, unfortunately, limited now to subdermal and internal communications.
"I am almost finished getting the plane to obey my commands, and will be able to turn it over to local control soon after. If you all can hold out for at least another 10 seconds, I should be all set. Once I have overridden their locks, Tiamat, I should be in a position to close the rear doors for you."
The voice obviously belonged to Eleanor.
OOC: Ghost, I need a reflex roll. Also, do you have flare compensation of any kind?

Kesslan dumped the two unconscious pilots by the closed door and considered what to do next. The captain was going to be a problem, but so were the people on the other side of a door in just a moment. "Some one deal with the captain, fragger's still giving orders." he'll mention over his comlink before readying his shotgun. He tried to decide what was more likely, a breaching charge that would damage the aircraft the military was trying to take back, or something to bypass the lock. In the end he hoped for something more akin to the latter and tried to find some form of cover that overlooked the door while aiming his shotgun towards said door in question, and leaving the unconscious pilots just in front of it.

As Little Tiamet shifted his weight from side to side and took aim he heard two messages. One was from Eleanor this was the first time LT had heard the car speak and was quite thrown off "Who da frag was that!" a perplexed look on the trolls face. No matter he thought the message was in there favor. the second was from kess and he did not like the sound of it the captain was up and would not likely go down again easy. "Lets go ill get da captain." he said to ashe with a smile. "I'm not leaving you up here!"

"Aww, Frag! The Captain!" Ashe cursed, not noticing the metal clanking around at her and LT's feet. She pushed her hands back around the door frame, momentarilly distracted enough to forget that LT was going to bodilly toss her to the front of the plane if she didn't go willingly. Another blinding flash went off, eliciting another scream as her lightning bolt struck home again. It was unlikely that each bolt would kill the victims. That would take quite a bit of luck on her part, and an equivalent lack of luck on the target's. However, they were quite effective at medium term disability, because of the electrical nature of the attack.
Following the flash of her lightning, there were an answering blinding flash from the granades that made it inside the hold. Ashe was stunned and mostly disabled by her lack of response.

LT heard, and reacted, to the granades being thrown in the door. Luckily, he was facing in a direction that let him see the metal canisters after they were launched, and he knew that they were flash granades. He covered his eyes in an almost leisurely pace, opening them immediately after to see that the soldiers outside the door were surging forward in the wake of the flash they knew were coming. He was now quite prepared to take out several of them, since they were up and running, without the suppression fire they had been using to keep him down before. Just as he noticed this, however, he also noticed the tears running down Ashe's face, coming out of her unfocused staring eyes. She had been much less prepared, and much less able to deal with the flash than LT, and was relegated useless for at least a minute while her vision cleared, and her wits caught up with her.
"I'm not leaving you up here!" LT finished saying to Ashe as he uncovered his eyes. His smile slipped slightly as he took in the newly stunned look on her face. It was definitely not his Gallantry which had inspired the stun...
"Huh?" She responded back to him, the stunned brain taking it's time processing, but the urgency in his voice managed to get out some sort of response, or something...
At the same time, LT heard a loud thud, and a responding "OOF" coming from behind him. Something had fallen on someone, or maybe someone had fallen, and hard.

Kesslan noticed, as the door handle began to turn, that there was a very bright flash from the front of the plane. He was well covered from it, but he knew that that could have been very bad for the two standing up front. Just at about the same moment, or shortly afterward, the Captain was released from his hold on the roof of the plane and came down hard, right next to Kesslan. He gave a resounding, and quite satisfying "OOF" as he hit the floor, unprepared for it, right on his stomach. Even if he was conscious, he wouldn't be speaking for a good 2-3 minutes while he got his lungs working again. If he was lucky. If not, they would have to do a bit of field medicine to repair a collapsed lung. One problem solved. One new one about to present itself.
The door opened, and 2 soldiers, with at least 2 more behind, tried to burst through the door behind them, assault rifles held at the ready.

Ashe was effectively stunned. She will be somewhat responsive to direct stimulus, but she is temporarilly blind, so she will be limited in her capacity to act.
Based on the "roughly 10 seconds" that Eleanor asked for, you expect that somewhere around half of that has passed. You need to hold the doors for at least another 5 seconds before she will have override on the locks. Then you will have to hold the doors long enough for her to either lift off, or close the doors, or both.

Kesslan, it is your turn, twice. You get your "Readied Action," and then it will be your second IP at the top of the order.

Kesslan doesn't have too much chance to express surprise at the Captain falling down in front of him as he expects any number of well armed soldiers to burst in through the door before him at any moment. It's by this point that he idly wishes he didn't stick to non lethal rounds so much. Non lethal rounds were great when dealing with corps in many ways, you didn't kill their people, so they had less reason to try and kill you if they managed to track you down. However that did leave something to wish for when dealing with taking out a bunch of military types in the middle of their own base...

None the less he did his best to at least hold off the horde as they rushed in, his first shot going off the moment the door was open wide enough at the first solider that crossed his sights, and then with a mental flick running through his PAN to his smartlinked shotgun he switched to burst fire and opened up with a quick burst at the same target. He knew he'd have to hit them hard and fast if he was to stand any chance at taking them out. Unfortunately he was badly outnumbered at this point in time.

Then again, they all were.

As the small group of at least 4 soldiers tried to burst through the door, Kesslan opened up his shotgun into them from nearly point blank range. They may have had armor on, but it was little protection from the punch of a shotgun round into their lead man's gut. The first shot staggered him back, throwing him slightly off balance, and blocking the door from further entry by his team mates. His eyes showed understanding, and his right arm started to come back around with the assault rifle in it, even before he got his feet underneath him. The feral attack look coming across his face was somewhat frightening, but didn't even phase Kesslan as he changed his tactic to meet the oncoming threat.

"HOHGH" The punch of air left the Soldier's lungs. He was, by no means, rendered helpless, even without his breath in him. These were clearly combat-ready troops.

The second shot was even more devastating than the first. Again, there was nearly no chance of damage, since they were already wearing armor, and the rounds were almost specifically designed not to penetrate it. However, that didn't change the power that the shot had over their bodies, and positioning. The second shot into the torso of the already off-balance soldier was very effective, even if it hadn't been a burst. The soldier's feet lifted off the ground as he was thrown violently blackwards into his teammates, and the front two were knocked over out the door. His body shuddered backward as each successive blast landed in his torso, throwing him more and more violently backwards. Worse still, at least for the lead man, was that the door frame forced the assault rifle from his hands, and onto the floor at Kesslan's feet. Now the lead soldier was down, blocking the doorway, and unarmed. This was definitely not what he had had in mind when he came through the door!

"UNGHFF" The second soldier's air rushed from his lungs as he was crushed beneath the first.

Just as this success reassures Kesslan that he at least stands some chance, Eleanor's voice comes on again through the commlinks.
"I should have successful control over the electronics in the plane in 5.
"4."
Eleanor begins her countdown as she continues her apparently successful raid on the electronic overrides for control of the vehicle.

This was bad. magic support was down with Ashe out of the loop stunned as she was, and that was not all. It sounded like kess was seeing his own bit of action in the other compartment. The soldiers back where LT was were closing in. He almost did not hear the count down as he had fell deep into survival mode. The troll let out a roar and in that moment threw his left pistol in to the plain scooped Ashe up in his arms and made a dash for the inside of the plain. Just for good measure he let off a shot BANG! with an out stretched right hand behind him. He looked but did not aim. His twisted girth providing cover for the body in his left arm.

The four soldiers outside the door - Kesslan can now clearly see that there are only the four that he originally identified - were clearly surprised and caught significantly off guard. Apparently having the Captain speaking with them over the Commlinks turned out to be a bit in their favor, but far more favorable for Kesslan, having discovered the Captain just at the right time. The soldiers had expected to be totally unopposed coming in the doors.
The two soldiers who went down from Kesslan's first round of shooting were now in the way, and unable to fight back.
The two remaining soldiers were clearly well trained and coordinated. One of them reached down and grabbed a handful of the armor of each of the downed soldiers, and started to drag them back. It would take a couple of seconds for the two standing to be able to get in, but he was doing the right things. The other opened fire on Kesslan.

"3" Eleanor's countdown continued.

Ashe was "out of it." She was beyond useless for the time being, since leaving her up front would actually be a liability. With the soldiers outside advancing in significantly superior numbers, LT figured he would have to get out, and bring Ashe with him. He was pretty lucky, so far, in his ability to dodge the bullets coming in the open doors, but his luck would run out when the soldiers got to the doors, and he knew it. It was time to high-tail it toward the front.
Ashe slumped into his arm as he scooped her up in passing. She wasn't entirely "out of it" since she put her arms around his neck to hold on, but that seemed to be about the limit of her capacity for the time being.
He turned and fired with his one available hand, just for good measure. He wasn't entirely sure if he hit someone, but there was an answering rain of bullets in through the door. LT started to dance about a bit, as he ran, trying to keep himself outside the shower of bullets, and mostly succeeded.
LT: 2 bullets... Dodge tests; +2 dice for partial cover, +2 dice for being already on the run, -2 dice for carrying Ashe.
Roll the first dodge against 3 (if you beat it then you don't have to roll body). Then body against 8 - your dodge test successes.
Roll the second dodge against 2 (if you beat it then you don't have to roll body). Then body against 7 - your dodge test successes.


"2"

"Ok guys, I have a good feel for the controls, and Eleanor has managed to over-ride the emergency shut-down locks the previous occupants put in place before I got here. I will be initiating the take-off procedures immediately. Hold on to something." Driver said over the commlinks. Immediately following his statements, the already droning rotors started to pick up speed, and put out more noise. From experience, the entire group knew that it would be a few seconds before actual liftoff, but this would limit the number of soldiers that would be able to make it into the plane. Hopefully.

"1" Just one more second!

"I have overcome the locking mechanisms. The rear door will begin closing immediately. The side door is open as well, but that door is manual. You will have to close it yourselves." Eleanor's voice came over the Commlink. If not for the imminent danger, relief would be completely appropriate. As things stood now, however, there was a significant danger that a group of Soldiers would manage to get in before take-off, or before the doors closed. They could cause a lot of problems...

Kesslan, it's your turn. The two soldiers who are down will stay down, at least for the short-term future. The two that are up are proving to be quite the threat.
The plane is starting to move a bit, as the weight lifts off the ground. We are not clear, but the footing is now difficult enough that any further movement will result in an Athletics roll to retain balance: Threshhold for this turn is only 1.

Kesslan's not sure he can count on the second fallen soldier to be down terribly long but he can worry about that later. And while the nearby Assault rifle was something that could be potentially quite handy, the Shapeshifter was unfamiliar with such weapons, leading him to decide to ignore it for the time being and focus on trying to take down the enemy as quickly as he could. So instead he trains his shotgun on first one soldier opening up with a burst before swinging his weapon around and firing off a second burst at the other soldier. "How we doing back there people?" He calls out over the comlink, intending the comment towards mostly Ashe and LT but honestly he just wants to know he's not entirely alone at this point...

LT's luck was holding out! For someone who usually got the short end of the stick. That did not seem to be happening here though. "WERE coming in hot" LT responded to Kess's question.

As the floor of the Aircraft began to move beneath their feet, Kesslan successfully kept the invaders from his door. At least, that was the way it was currently looking. The two burst shots he had just levelled into the chests of the still-standing Soldiers outside the door would be enough to knock one of them out, and the other wouldn't be moving too quickly, even if he did maintain consciousness.
"How we doing back there people?" He calls back to the other door, hoping for some good news. Scarcely had the question left his mouth than the door he was guarding was slammed closed as LT went barrelling past. From the quick look Kesslan was able to get in before LT continued through his field of vision, he was carrying Ashe in his arms, and she was no longer glowing with the magic of sustained spells. Part of that had been obvious, since the Captain had been sustained in a levitate spell. But, this also meant that whatever it was that had been keeping her reactive capacity up as high as Kesslan's was no longer functioning either. That was most definitely not a good thing. It meant she couldn't keep firing her spells off!
In an almost answering cry, Kesslan could clearly hear the boots of the handful of soldiers who had managed to make it in the door in the front before both the plane lifted off, and the rear doors closed out the rest. The good news seemed to be that LT and Ashe were still alive. The bad news: perhaps their survival would be up to Kesslan, and the Soldiers were on their own home turf now, and his shotgun was on empty.

Kesslan, it's your go. LT just ran past you, and slammed the door closed in his wake. He didn't bother to stop and lock the door, but you probably have plenty of time to get that lock thrown, since the shooters behind it are ALL prone right now. That said, the boots in the back are just the noises you were hoping you wouldn't hear...

Kesslan considered his options, and in the end decided he had to try and buy everyone a little more time. As a result he simply dropped his shotgun to let it swing back on it's sling, pulled out a thermal smoke grenade and tossed it towards the on coming rush of soldiers even as he activated his optical camouflage via his PAN. He was actually starting to get nervous now though, he could have switched to his pistols but didn't think they'd be the best thing to use going in against an unknown number of troops when he had practically no cover. But if there was one thing he knew relatively well, was how to sneak about unnoticed; if only for a slight natural affinity towards such endeavors.

Free: Switch chameleon suit to camouflage mode

Visual Perception roll (Astral: Far as I could tell in my case there's no associated penalty. In most cases it would be -2 but that penalty doesn't exist for dual natured beings): Int 4 + Per 2 = 6d = 4 Hits

LT managed to just keep himself and Ashe up and moving. He quickly put her down near the cockpit and Pocketed his pistol. the smoke started to rise in the room he smiled at kess's idea to blind them, with that in mind he waded into the smoke along the side of cargo hold trying to stay away from his last position. More over he was planning to engage them in close quarters where he hoped his size would give him the advantage in the small hold, but was he trained enough to hold them all. At the very least he figured he could give kess better targets. As he figured that the soldiers did not want to shoot in the bullet proof hold. He switched his site to ultrasound and tride to infiltrate the position of the incoming soldiers....

infiltration roll:

infiltration 4, agility 5, wounded -1 = 8 dice = 3 hits

perception test called for by gm gala intuition 3, perception visual 4, enhanced vision 2, ultrasound -2, = 7 dice = 2 hits

audio perception test intuition 3 perception 4 = 7 dice = 4 hits

I need you both need to roll Athletics tests to move at all with the plane lifting off (threshhold = 2). Since I forgot to mention this for the last pass, it will not be applied retroactively, but it will be a continuous test.

With bated breath, Kesslan chucks a Thermal Smoke Grenade over the top of the "Supplies" stack in between Kesslan and the now-closed Main Hold Door, with the hope of landing the grenade right in the midst of the small group of soldiers who managed to charge in before the doors closed. His aim, as it turned out was quite good from his perspective, as the smoke quickly started to billow out from the top and sides of the wide double-stack of crates. The sounds coming from in front changed somewhat, but it was quickly confirmed that he was dealing with professionals.
"Quick, put on the IR Goggles!" Could be heard as they responded to the new nature of the threat. Kesslan, of course, had no expectation that they would be anything but "well trained" threats, and could only hope that these "IR Goggles" were the low-tech versions which would prove to be useless.
As the stumbling and mumbling continued, Kesslan - hoping it would work to his advantage in the end - moved stealthily toward one side of the crates. He switched the visual-aid to "Ultrasound," relying on echo-location for his sight for the next few seconds, and further hoping to take advantage of the momentary chaos provided by the smoke. Kesslan used the chaos provided by the diversion to allow him to close initially without any extra concern for stealth, again, hoping that the ambient noise, and the soldiers own confusion, would cover the sounds of his bootfalls.

As Kesslan closed in on the right side of the double-wide stack of crates, he caught the movement of LT mirroring his own movements on the far side. Clearly LT had gotten the message, and was mimicing his own tactics.

As each of your clear your respective side of the crate stacks, you see 2 Soldiers directly in front of you, still blinded by their techno-inferiority. You cannot see beyond them, as they are standing in a "double-occupancy" configuration in their space. They take up all the visual room. They are all armed with the same assault rifles you saw on the other soldiers, and body armor. None of them have combat helmets, but they have what looks like quite effective body cover for the rest of their bodies.

The doors of the aircraft are closed, and the firing from outside has stopped for now. The aircraft is lifting off the ground, and footing is quite difficult.

For the time being Kesslan simply hunkers down where he is, slinging his empty shotgun before reaching back behind his head and slowly unsheathing both his swords as quietly as he could manage. He didn't like trying to take on a group like this in melee but at times like this it seemed to make more sense than just about anything else he could do, he needed stealth on his side to prevent them from just turning him into a red smear with combined weapons fire after all.

LT smiled at kess though they could barely see each other he could see they were on the same page. He tried to get his feet under him sturdier then before. At the same time he reached for the heads of the two soldiers before him, intent on colliding them.

Balance check re-roll default Agility Agility 5 wound -1 Edge + 2 = 6 dice 1 hit Wow... Mad

(Well no reason to roll attack lol)

Kesslan, LT, and each of the soldiers that they could see, all reacted in much the same way. Some reacted better, others not so well. Kesslan lowered his center of gravity a bit, and concentrated on maintaining his balance. The two soldiers in front of LT mimic'd Kesslan in that. LT attempted to take advantage of their distraction, and the nearly deafening background noise, trying to move in on the soldiers for an attack. LT was not lucky enough to maintain his balance, and had to put down a hand to steady himself. The two soldiers in front of Kesslan also lost their balance, with a somewhat more exciting, and likely more dangerous (to them at least), collapse. It wasn't clear to Kesslan which one, or both, of them lost their balance first. But since they were so close together, it was only natural for them both to go down.
"It's IR Smoke! Quick, use your US Goggles!" The 5th, and as yet only non-visible team member to have revealed his position whispered loudly to his team. LT and Kesslan are both well within hearing range, and can hear him clearly. The two soldiers in front of LT both reached up and did something to or with their goggles. Fine details are not entirely clear in the Ultrasound goggles.

Kesslan considered his options for a moment before moving into action, he'd considered briefly trying to boost his strength but decided it was better to act now and try and take out at least one of them before they had a chance to recover, and so, sword in each hand he did his best to sneak up on one of the prone soldiers and drive both blade tips into something vital...

Free: Movement (Agility 7 + Atheletics 1 = 8d = 2 hits
Complex: Melee attack (Agility 7 + Close combat 1 + Custom grip 1 = 9d = 3 hits

Melee damage: STR/2 = 2 + 3P = 5p vs Impact

Edit: OK so looked over the advanced combat rules in Arsenal and found the relevant entry (P163) for dual wielding melee weapons (Since SR4A doesn't actually cover it). So i have to redo the rolls

Complex: Dual Melee Attack (Agility 7 + Close combat 1 = 8d /2 = 4d)

Attack 1: (Attacker at -1 to defend against attack 1) 4d + 1 Custom grip + 1 Reach + 3 Opponent Prone = 9d = 3 Hits
Attack 2: (Attacker at -2 to defend against attack 2) 4d +1 Custom grip + 1 Reach + 3 Opponent Prone = 9d = 3 hits

Stealth Roll: Agility 7 + Infiltration 2 = 9d = 1 Hit

There is a not-so-subtle difference between someone being, say, shot in the head, and someone dieing nearly instantly of blade wounds to the body. The biggest difference, of course, is that the "someone" being attacked by the blades will have just long enough to let out what is known as the "death scream" or some other less pleasant titles.
Kesslan, after attacking and trying to "hide" again, realized that there is little way to hide his handiwork, as the last breath of his opponent included some high pitched screaming, filling the belly of the plane with such noise as to hurt anyone's ears. Fortunately, he didn't need to hide his handiwork, just his body. And with the aid of the smoke, he was doing that perfectly well.

"Ok, I am passing control of the plane over to Driver as soon as it is stabilized and flying. You will be out of my range soon. Eleanor's voice came over the commlinks to inform everyone of her actions.
